Getting in shape/Losing weight in pre-nursing/NS support thread

Published

Although, It says for students Everyone is welcome.

A few years ago I lost a significant amount of weight and increased my health by walking/running. I was involved with a support thread on another board. We shared our stats each week, our ups, and our downs. It was so helpful for me to be accountable for my actiions and numbers. Well, I was doing good, but had a surprise pregnancy now he is 2, and I am back where I was and then some.

With the unique considerations that come from fitting excercise and a healthy diet in during NS/and pre- reqs, I thought it might be nice to be able to share and support each other because we know better than anyone else the stress of time management and pressure of keeping our grades up.

I know that NS can be strenuous physically and I want to get in shape or at least a head start for this fall

Would anyone else like to join me?

way to go nightbloom! 5 pounds you are the winner of last weeks weigh in! that is fantastic.

i lost no weight last week but i did not do a very good job with my points. this week i am trying your approach with using only the points allowed a day. i am not using the points i earn from exercise or the additional ones you get per week. my day off is going to be sunday as we are celebrating my son's birthday. i can't believe he will be 10.....he is my baby. where does the time go!

:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:

just a reminder that biggest loser finale is on tonight!

so who do ya'll think it's going to be! how small do you think allie is now! wow! she was tiny before the finals! i really want to see a woman win this time, although i think they all deserve it!

i can't wait!:p

I lost 3 pounds last week! I don't feel a difference yet but it felt good to see the scale go down. I will work harder on my diet this week and hopefully do it again.

Congratulations to everyone! Keep up the good work.

This week's updated totals!

With all 9 of us reporting, our total weight loss for the week was 21.6 pounds!

GO ALLIE!!

i've had a terrible day. school stress. home-life strees. work stress.

needless to say, i ate terrible foods, but on the bright side, not that much of it. so, maybe it will not be that bad.

hope everyone else had a great day!

Hi Everyone, I would like to join the group to lose weight. I am a 2nd semester RN nursing student. Only 2 1/2 weeks to go then hopefully I can say I am going to be a third semester nursing student in the fall :) We have a test next week but it is just the level 2 hesi to see what areas we are weak in then the final on Fri May 2nd.

I have lost weight in the past when I have a job the keeps me on my feet then when I take a job that has me sitting at a desk all day I gain it all back and then some. I have lost 15lb since starting nursing school last Aug. I still want to lose about 35lbs. So my goal is to lose those 35lb by Sept 1st. I will be working two jobs this summer which both have me on my feet which should help but I also want to eat right and exercise. Oh and quit drinking cokes which I know are bad for me.

Great job on your tests! And on the coke test. yeah.gif I gave up soda last week. I only had one since and drank about half of it and it just tasted too sweet after not having a few days.
