Take kaplan is the best!

You can try Suzanne's plan. A lot of people swear by this plan and they say it works great. Check out this link: https://allnurses.com/forums/f197/new-revised-first-tip-suzannes-plan-195774.html

You should take Kaplan than within the month take the NCLEX! But I think before Kaplan you should review using saunders with a CD-ROM. When you feel that you know the content O.K. then take Kaplan! For Kaplan you need to the content and they teach you strageties for taking the NCLEX. Are fluent in English? I degree acquired in U.S. or abroad?

Saunders is an excellent book to study from. Try Suzanne's programme. You have to complete the first part yourself as directed in the thread and then contact her via pm.

Good luck and make sure your approval does not have a time limit to take the exam and a lot of ATT only last 90 days so only register with pearsonvue once you feel ready to sit the exam

Well my friend its up to you on how long you want to review but in your case I think you have to work again from the basic. I dont know if you are working as a nurse right now but still NCLEX can't assure your knowledge from actual experiences. If there's some live lectures offer in your place try to grab it because in my case I have difficulty on self-studying its boring . You Have long way to review>> start reading books now. Some says in this thread try Saunders book, and it really helps you a lot maybe you could enroll also the Kaplan Q bank course online. Maybe 3 months will do for you Good Luck..

Being out from school for 10 years, I would probably consider taking a review course if you can afford it, and give yourself at least 3 to 4 months. Taking Kaplan closer to the exam seems like a good idea, or order the Kaplan book. It has a web site where you may review questions on line for free, I hear. I used the one for NCLEX-PN with excellent results. Here is the hyperlink for the book in Amazon.com; http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_b/102-7635403-7187356?initialSearch=1&url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=kaplan+NCLEX+review

Somehow, I think that going to a live review that is more interactive would help because you may have some questions after a long hiatus. Good luck!

I am so feeling your situation right now!!! I've been out of school for 8 years and haven't been working in the nursing field. I took the test once and failed so I became very discouraged and didn't feel like trying again, until now.

I started studying in June, using Suzanne's plan and Saunder's book. I have forgotten a lot of things too so I've had to read almost every single chapter. It's been a long, grueling, tiring, and challenging process. There's some days that I just want to quit!! But then I come here, to the forum, and gather strength and inspiration to push forward.

I'm currently halfway through the book. I can't wait to finish and start step 2 of Suzanne's plan. I hear she works wonders, so I'm putting a lot of faith, sanity, and patience into her study plan. I can't afford Kaplan's. And being in Japan, it's kind of hard to attend a live review. I heard the NCSBN has a $49 3-wk course available, too.

I want to test in Dec. as well so maybe we can do this together. Which board did you apply to? I know it's a national test but I've run into problems with some states, like my home state of TX because it's been so long since I've graduated nursing school.
