Gerontology....Who has or is taking this class soon???

I tihnk my ISSUE is the long break. I haven't had a nursing class since last years Intervention. I am just so unmotivated. It's Thurs…I haven't read, I haven't written, I haven't discussed. By now, I'm typically DONE!! I better get my but in gear QUICKLY!!! LOL

I felt the same way when I tested out of Health Assessment and came back to 2 classes! Shock to the system let me tell you!

I came back to 3, lol! I am down to 2 now, and have no motivation. Back to 3 in the spring and then done!!!

All of you that are taking multiple classes, working, and raising a family are just Superwomen to me! I work full time and whine about taking 2 at once ... lol. But I am older .. that is my excuse for taking things slower. I once said that my OCD would never stand for taking 3 classes at once ... I definately have some A. Retentive ways when it comes to school.

I agree with you on the superwomen working and caring for family. I am working very PRN and still cannot get motivated to start the assignment. Finally did the two different discussion posts. Still have two scholarly replies to complete and the assignment of course. I wrote 5 sentences the other day and just stopped. Seemed like dribble.

"Typically" on these assignments you are just filling in the grind. So the APA comes in in regards to quotations/references. The title page/running headers stuff is for when you are writing a paper. "BUT" EVERY CLASS IS DIFFERENT, so what I am saying could be completely wrong. But per my experience from other classes, what I just stated has been correct.

In my last class, our case study questions were in the same format. What they usually mean in this case for APA format is your references and citations...and of course grammar.

My goal is to do my discussion board post tonight (considering it's due by midnight tonight) which I kind of already have formulated in my head. Tomorrow do the assignment, which I looked at the questions before I did the readings for this week, so I kind of have the answers to those in my head as well, just a matter of putting them on paper in an orderly fashion. And, as per my usual, do my 2 replies on Sunday....then start working on Music that is due by Wednesday (or is it Thursday)? hope to have that done by the end of the day sunday or Monday then spend the remainder of the week reading for the next gerontological assignment. It is a never ending cycle it seems...

If the assignment is the same in your section as it is mine, you are filling in answers on a formatted Word document, so there is no need for a title page or running head. Just use APA format in your response: No contractions and proper citations with a reference at the end, ya di ya da . . .

One of my big complaints about most of the TA's in this program is that they often don't provide clear instructions. In my section for example, the TA put out an "APA Tips" sheet this week, which is helpful, but did not make clear that not all of the tips were applicable to this week's assignment. It is also incredibly annoying that this is the second class I've taken in which the written instructions say

What is a credible reference that is refereed?

In all likelihood, the the TA meant to use "referred" and the auto correct put in the wrong word. The point is that it's the same kind of error students would loose points for and tells me that the TA is either too busy or too lazy to proofread their own documents.
