From Gannett News Service 2003 - A special report on Nursing Home ratings nationwide.
You get a star rating ( 5 best, 1 worst) in comparison to your State's. See how well you did in your neck of the woods.

Under SEARCHABLE DATABASE, click on "Get patient care quality ratings for 16,000 nursing homes nationwide" ... choose State, County, then your facility.
.... more concise and easier to interpret with "How To Read Report" guide on the left.

Thank you for that bit of info. I was able to see the LTC where I want to work and their rating is pretty good.
Hope this helps others.

The nursing home where I used to work is a 2 star home. That had gone down, I am sorry to say.

Thanks for the post, I wondered what the nursing home I used to work at was rated because I didn't like working there as a cna and thought that maybe all were like that. Well they only recieved a 2 star. AND I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ME!! I knew the patients weren't given the time they deserved. They spread us so thin that we were rushed to the point of unsafe nursing. They derserve to only get 2 star and they have really turned me off to ltc but now I may try a better home!!!

Was glad to see my current workplace was rated 5 stars but this site is not up to date. Our last two yearly state inspections were not even listed and we got perfect surveys both years. The place I worked at prior did not fair up so well. I am very proud of our level of care and most of the people that work there.

Our nursing home is not up to date either. Goes way back to March of 2002.

I feel bad now. I just checked the one I work for PRN. I thought it was pretty good, compared to the ones I've worked for in the past. It rates a 1.
Also noticed though it has not been updated in a while. The last few state surveys have been pretty good, or atleast so I hear.
