Georgia SWU-FNP Online

Published

Hello everyone. I was wondering if there was anyone applying into or is currently admitted into the Georgia Southwestern State University online FNP program. I just applied and currently awaiting acceptance. This will be there second enrolling class, the tuition is very affordable, its all online and is 22 months if anyone is interested. I was recently accepted into UC FNP program which starts in the spring but it is more expensive and I can get in state tuition in GA and pay for the program out of pocket if I choose to. I haven't decided yet. I am also thinking of applying to Clayton State University and Georgia College FNP program. I would love some feed back. Looking forward to forming so study groups. Thanks in advance.

I am in ATL and I too am looking into FNP programs, does SWU help with clinical placements? I had applied to Frontier Nursing University but was wait listed, so I am now looking into local universities. I also looked into Clayton state but they only admit students in the fall semester.

I'm not sure exactly how that works as far as clinical placement. This is a new program. I will find out more this week as they are reviewing applications this Thursday. This program admits in fall also. I thought about Clayton also. Haven't applied there. The good thing about GSW is the price. For me after looking for over a year for a affordable program, I feel this is worth the wait. I got admitted to UC for this Spring but I am going to decline it's almost 40 thousand compared to GSW which is less than 20. Clayton is about 25 thousand. I feel like I have finally found a great school and affordable price. I looked into Frontier and it is expensive for my budget. Thanks for replying. Keep me posted on what you decide. I'm in Covington. I just moved here in January. Good luck on whatever you decide.

Thanks for your response...Budget is a huge consideration for me also and it seems that Clayton State and GSW is by far the most affordable program. I searched the forum and didn't find any threads on current students at GSW, I did find a few about Clayton State. Also are you going to do school full time or part time?

Good look to you also, I just moved to Lilburn this summer!

Great. Clayton and GSW are new programs. They both started this Fall. I spoke to the department chair at GSW and I looked at the video on the site. It sounds like it is a very reputable school and have one of the best nursing programs in the GA system. You should check it out.I might still apply to Clayton but if I get accepted here I don't know if I will bother. I don't mind attending a school away from home. It's about 2.5 hours from here to Americus for me. Looking for a study partner

I think I will do fulltime depending on the curriculum. Part-time will take longer versus the 22 months. I rather focus on school and get it completed. I don't know about you but I'm not getting any younger. This has been a long journey for me. Inbox me and maybe we can exchange numbers so we can chat about this. I'm here in GA with just my husband it will be nice to get to know someone in the area and with the same goals.

Hey ladies I am in GA ti looking at all the options for FNP is so overwhelming. I am applying to Frontier but seeing so many on the wait list I have decided to apply at local university to. I had never heard of GA SWU.

Hi Mandy 228. Georgia Southwestern State University is in Americus. You should look them up. They admit every fall. Very reasonable price. 22 months in length. It's all online no on site required. I thought about Clayton also but since I already applied at GSW I'm going to wait to hear from them. They are reviewing apps this week so I should know something soon. No long wait time to find out if you got in. Just like Clayton, this is a new program for them so I will be joining the second enrolling class. I'm not from here so I never heard of them either just a lot of researching for schools.

Hey Many228

The huge advantage of going to a local school is the price they are more affordable. Both Clayton State and GSW are new programs so there are pass rates etc but their BSN programs are well established. I went for frontier based on reputation, school ranking and recommendation from former students. But I do plan on applying to Clayton State cause of location and few site visit. Looking for a program is very difficult took me just about a year to choose one ...lol

Good luck!

I'm in the same boat. Been looking over a year now. What do you ladies think? Clayton or GSW?
