I wanted to start a thread for pre-nursing students who applied for admissions into the spring of 2020 program. I was denied for admissions into the Fall of 2019 and my application was updated by the admin for consideration for the spring semester. I am re-taking the TEAS-exam over this summer to boost my chances as only 60 students are selected for the spring and 80 for the fall.
My stats when I applied for the Fall of 2019 was:
3.8- General Ed
3.45- Science
3.72-Overall GPA
Teas- 70.5%
My Stats for the Spring of 2020
3.88-General Ed
3.57-Science
3.74-Overall GPA
Teas- Retaking
As of the Summer of 2019- I will have all nursing pre-requisites complete, including the new Psych 2103- Intro to human development. I just graduated on the 7th with my Associate of Science degree with high honors but it seems to me that having all pre-reqs complete and a high gpa doesn't guarantee admissions as long as your Teas score and science gpa is competitive.
Thereon, share your stats ladies and keep God in your prayer as he has chosen us to pick this field and nursing is very rewarding, working as CNA and Medtech for 4 years has really opened my love for the field. Yes at times the workload is very heavy and draining but I wouldn't give up the time I spent with my patients,nurses and their family members for the world. Caring for others is my calling and I know God called each of us for this ?
@hungrydani90 I am positive what I saw cause I was standing over the pile, it looked like about 20-30 envelopes if not more,I believe the letters will be out 1st week of September, & 60 gets admitted for the Spring ❤️
Keep your prayers up , remember my story, I thought I was going in for the Spring of my 2020 and boom here I am by the grace of God, we had a high turnover, about 9-10 people dropped and like 20 gave up their seat, that's why I was able to get in, My teas score was not so great, I had like a flat 70% flat ! My science was my best score and english, MY GPA is pretty high so that saved me.

I havent received anything in the mail yet. Has anyone heard anything? I know its only sept. 4th but every time the mail comes I almost pass out HAHA

@hungrydani90 No not today I normally won't check the mail but I've literally been going to the box all four days this month. I know it sounds crazy but I went to the post from spring 2019 and saw people starting posting they received the letters on September 17th and on so hopefully by then but I pray sooner. I wanted to go to the office and ask Tuesday after class but then I got nervous so I just left campus. Did you apply to any other programs?
@Tonisha90 Aw I wish you would of asked! Are you taking classes at the clarkston campus this semester? I am there on tuesdays and thursdays but like you I am a bit nervous to go ask lol. I didnt apply to any other programs, I didnt really think about it until after the deadline. I was doing some research and I didnt see anywhere that was close enough for me to apply anyway. KSU would be too far for me and not to be negative but I dont believe my stats arent high enough for Emory. Did you apply anywhere else?

@hungrydani90 Yes I also take classes Tuesday and Thursday. I applied here, KSU, and Middle Georgia State. I know I'm all of the place. I don't think my stats were great for KSU but I wouldn't know if I didn't try.

Update I went in to ask when will the letter be mailed out I was asked if I read the letter in its entirety because it gave a date the date was September 30. LOL, that's all I got guys. Let's just wait I guess

The stats are weird because for this program only the grades for the program are included. So they are:
Teas: 78.7
Science GPA: 3.0
Cumulative GPA: 3.04
For the BSN programs, it's different because all sciences are including CHEM 1&2 and a few others so IDK if I'm adding it correct. I'm in my final round of pre reqs before I graduate in December 2019 with an Associates in Health Science. I'm taking CHEM 2 + Lab, Elementary Stat, Human Development, Critical thinking, and American Literature.
@Tonisha90 Oh dang they really said that.. No info other than the 30th? Thats crazy ? Hopefully we will hear something sooner than later.
Awesome that you'll be graduating with your associates in health science before starting the nursing program. Best of luck to you!

Ok, also today my husband came inside saying the mail was here and something came from me from GSU. He was taking a long time to answer and I kept saying is it big or small?!? He said it was a big envolope ( I couldnt see because I was in the kitchen putting away groceries) anyway he was joking and I almost hurt him.. still cannot believe he did that to me. ?
