Georgia Highlands College Spring 2011

Published

Hello! I am an applicant for the nursing program at Georgia Highlands College for Spring 2011. I was just wondering if there was anyone else on here that is hoping to be accepted to the college as well. Does anyone know the typical schedule, cost, etc.? What were the average scores on the nursing worksheets that were accepted last spring and for this coming Fall 2010 semester?

Thanks Charlie, that does help! I just found out today that they took my upper level classes instead of the lower level science courses. Finally, something went right and I have a much higher score. I met with the advisor as well, she said they will fill out the worksheet score just as it says to at the top of the page. The directions do say to mulitply by .50 and .30, so you are saying that they will then multiply the SAT scores by .20?

Thanks for your help, I hope to see you in the Spring!

so anyone want to guesstimate how long it will take to get our letters?

I asked that very same question when I was in the admissions office yesterday. I was told letters will be sent out the first week of November.

wow that long? geez

Bailey,

Here is a link to the worksheet. This should help out with the scoring system that is used:

Hi everyone! I applied to the spring program as well. I am about to go crazy! I just want to know if I got in! I have done all my pre reqs so this semster I am just taking some extra classes like spanish and clinical calc to boost my gpa more. Good luck to everyone! Hopefully we will hear something sooner than we expect :)

I have read all of your post on here and congrats to those that got in & good luck to those that are still waiting!! GHC is very high on my list for applying for the nursing program. I attend GPC right now and have very mixed feelings about applying there. I had a friend that graduated from GHC, May of last year (I think) & she said she loved it. Can anyone tell me how GHC look at repeated classes? I want to apply for the Fall 2011 semester (nursing), but I'm undecided if I should just go ahead and transfer for the Spring semester and take A&P 2, then Micro in the summer. Can someone ease my mind a lil and offer me some advice. The school is about an hour or so away from my house but I don't care about that, I've been wanting to be a nurse so long I can just about taste it.

Thanks for any advice

To be honest, I am not totally sure about how they feel about repeated classes, but let me know what you find out. I do know that the application worksheet asks you how many attempts you have had at a class and what those grades were, so it is calculated into the score, but I am not sure if they look down upon it or not.

I heard that letters will be sent out the first of November....just a little over a month before we know!!! Good luck to you all =)

I wish we would find out sooner! It seems so far away! I hate the waiting game! (I'm a little impatient ) Good Luck to everyone!

OMG.... this waiting is killing me!!!!! Has anyone heard anything or have any information to share?:uhoh3:

I have not received any information. Last I heard we wouldn't find out until early November. Best of luck to you all!! And... prayers welcome... :) Getting really nervous.
