George Washington University ABSN Spring 2015 Entry

Published

This thread was created for hopefuls and future awesome nursing students to the GWU ABSN program for Spring 2015 Entry. Enjoy.

I am accepted for Fall 2015.

But for the VBSN program

I LITERALLY just received word I have been accepted for fall 2015 VBSN!! So excited!!!

Yaaaaaaaaah! Add me on Facebook. We should start a page!

@gummycoco. what were your stats and how many schools in total did you apply to?

Lagirl,

- my gpa was around 3.5

- had two years of experience in ED

- I believe one of the doctors I worked with wrote me an amazing letter of recommendation.

I applied to just 2 schools, got into both but chose GW over the other program.

@gummycoco. My undergraduate GPA was 3.5 too but i don't know my prerequisite GPA. If I start fall, i'd have taken 2 yrs off. I've a degree in music, and finishing up anatomy. hoping for the best. the admissions office told me typically more ppl apply for fall.

I also heard that more people apply for fall. Goodluck lagirl!

People place a lot of emphasis on GPA and having prior experience, but I have found more times than not, a couple years off and a slightly lower GPA can be ovelooked when a person brings diversity to their program; Someone who has life experience over one who just graduated. Just my opinion. Be positive! I'm sure you bring some amazing things to GWU and I look forward to meeting you next fall! ;)

I am considering between commuting to campus or finding an apartment around there. I live about 30 min away (without traffic), but from my understanding we only have class three days a week and then the other day we go to our clinical sites. Would you recommend finding an apartment around there even if I'd only be staying there around 3 or 4 days a week??

Hi coco7,

I have classmates that travel from home to school. Everything is like 30 minutes away, so it might not be too much a hassle for you. You can save up the money since the tuition is already so high >.

Has anyone researched the stats for job placement of the ABSN grads?

Hey everyone. I graduated from GWU's Accelerated BSN program in May of this year. I had 2 job offers before I even graduated/took the NCLEX. I'm happy to answer reasonable questions about the program, so feel free to PM me! Good luck!
