how do I check my application status?

Hi Simoniebalonie!!

Thank you so much for offering help. I just got accepted this morning and got an interview for the W2 program!! I am just trying to figure out the location of the school and if you think having a car is necessary. Also, are the majority of clinicals in the DC area? From my understanding, classes will be 45 minutes outside of the city. If that is the case, would you recommend the Loudoun Heights apartments?

Hi Erika,

The nursing school is located in Ashburn, Virginia. I encourage to have a car (since everything is driving distance- ex:grocery stores, malls, clinical sites). Clinical sites are randomly placed in the Northern Virginia, DC, Maryland area. I am not sure if they change the rules about switching with your classmates or not (I didn't get to switch for my cohort). I currently lived in Loudoun Heights which is like two blocks away from campus. I appreciate the short distance because it saves a lot of time on traveling.

I am considering between commuting to campus or finding an apartment around there. I live about 30 min away (without traffic), but from my understanding we only have class three days a week and then the other day we go to our clinical sites. Would you recommend finding an apartment around there even if I'd only be staying there around 3 or 4 days a week??

i did get one from CAS saying i submitted.

Lagirl, I believe you can check your application status on nursingcas to see if they have received everything from you (recommendation letters, transcript). There are instructions on how you can check your application status on the website. After they have received everything from you, it usually takes them 1-2 weeks to calculate your GPA and send your app to GW. GW then emails you to let you know that they have received all the required materials. (It took me exactly 12 days to hear back - I submitted my app on 9/1 and heard from GW on 9/12). After that, you can't check your status. GW will email you to let you know when your application will be sent to the Admissions Committee for final review.

@ gummycoco. Thank you very much! I submitted for fall and called the office. They say i'm one of the earlier ones to submit, but i should get a confirmation soon. Have you heard back from GWU? Good luck!

Lagirl, oh wow you submitted the app very early! Goodluck!! Yeah I am accepted for spring 2015. Will be starting in january! Very excited ;)
