  1. Hey Everyone! I actually got accepted for FALL 2019 cohort and deferred for a year! I was raised in Hilton Head, and lived in Charleston a couple years ago! It is an amazing school, hospital, and town! I look forward to meeting everyone.
  2. Hey!! I applied as well! I believe my undergrad is around a 3.45 and my science is a 3.8. My BS is Health Education and Behavior. I do not have any more classes to take at this time. I have been a surgical technician for 4 years, and a veterinary surgical technician for 3 years. I am currently an ophthalmic technician and oculoplastic surgical technician. I am also a very non-traditional applier. I am an Army Veteran, and single mommy of 4. I did things backwards. I had children then put myself through school while working full time (speaking of tired but rewarding)!
  3. That's me. I was a surgical and specialty/emergency vet tech for years and a surgical tech in the army for 2 years. I have about 75 volunteer hours in hospice and therapeutic horseback riding. But no degree. :-/ i have a 3.7 but had two re takes from 10 years ago so probably only a 3.4?
  4. I have no degree either. I'll have just 70 credit hours! That makes me nervous
  5. I'm sorry. None of those responses were showing :-/
  6. She works there so in state. I'm in state also
  7. How large is a typical cohort at musc?
  8. I got into George Washington University but my husband is an active duty marine and we have 3 children so we are trying to remain close. Thank you! We are currently stationed in SC
  9. I applied last week also! I had a couple re-takes so my GPA isn't as competitive as I'd like but I was a surgical tech in the Army and worked in the Veterinary field for years doing specialty surgery and emergency care.
  10. People place a lot of emphasis on GPA and having prior experience, but I have found more times than not, a couple years off and a slightly lower GPA can be ovelooked when a person brings diversity to their program; Someone who has life experience over one who just graduated. Just my opinion. Be positive! I'm sure you bring some amazing things to GWU and I look forward to meeting you next fall! -Andrea
  11. Yaaaaaaaaah! Add me on Facebook. We should start a page!
  12. I think a lot buy danskos but they are pricey. Some just love white leather Nikes. It is all preference. I'd go to a uniform shop and maybe try some on! :)
