I just submitted my application to GWU for the ABSN program that will start in the Fall of 2014 and wanted to start a thread for it. Has anyone else applied recently? If so, has anyone heard early from admissions?

DNMc, i submitted it Mar 1, and just got an email today saying that my application has been forwarded to the Admissions Committee for further review and decision . . . YAYY 8) I just don't know how long that process will l take now?

also, does anyone know what state we would get licensed in? the Nursing School campus is in Virgnia, but the GWU campus main address is in DC, so I wasn't quite sure!

I emailed the admissions office yesterday to find out how long it would take to hear back about the decision since I've been waiting for 3 weeks. They said it takes 3-5 weeks for the decision to be made. As for the state of liscencing, I know the school is accredited in Virginia, but I don't know what the rules are for liscensing in DC. It may easily transfer.

I just called, and was told at LEAST one more week on the decision. Ugh. I'm thinking about just going with Johns Hopkins. Has anyone gotten any financial aid info with their acceptance? Even with the Peace Corps scholarship I got from JHU, GWU is still cheaper at full price (but I'm really leaning towards Baltimore anyway). So I'm trying to figure out if it is worth waiting on GWU when I'm really struggling to complete prerequisites for both at the same time instead of dropping the ones I don't need. (Yes, I know, nursing school will be way tougher! But this is my time to get into the swing of things, plus I've got other stuff going on which will be less the case once nursing school actually starts)

I am still waiting for my acceptance, but did anyone else get an email regarding the nursing scholarships? Does anyone know if that was sent only to accepted candidates or all who applied?

I was wondering the same thing. I am still waiting on a decision, but I received the scholarship email too. I'm hoping that it was a good sign, but it might just be wishful thinking. I do think it is weird that the deadline is so soon though.

You're right. I hadn't noticed that, but you also need a GW Id to apply for the scholarship, which makes me hopeful it's only for accepted applicants too ;) I'm going to try and call them tomorrow to find out. Fingers crossed!

I just heard from the admissions office that decisions are still pending. And all applicants are encouraged to apply for the scholarship, even without knowing our admissions decision by the scholarship deadline. I really hope we hear on Friday....

I just got accepted into my first choice school, so I will be declining my offer to GW tomorrow morning. I really hope they turn that around quickly and offer the spot to one of you still waiting to hear! Best of luck everyone!!
