Hi, I am wondering if anyone applied to GMU's FNP program for Fall 2016. Or if anyone is currently enrolled. I am applying and feel a bit nervous/noncompetitive when considering my overall GPA. The website states they want you to have a 3.0 out of 4.0 for the last 60 hours. However, I can't help but think they will also take into consideration overall GPA. Anyway, just wondering other people's thoughts/experiences with this school or admission rate. Thanks.
I got in at GMU for FNP 2016 also. soo excited. Nursing GCW did you get in both DNP and FNP programs?
Can someone comment whenever they get an email from an advisor? Or are you all just going to email your advisors? I activated my patriot access and got an email from mason saying they got my intent to enroll and i can register for classes. However, I don't know what I'm registering for or anything honestly!
Congrats! I'm honestly not quite sure, I do know it's a very competitive program. Two of my former coworkers went through the Adult NP program at Mason and graduated last May, they passed their boards right away and they are both working as NPs and felt adequately prepared for what they see in their NP jobs everyday. They did say there is some disorganization but I'm guessing that's with all programs. They said it was a rough few years just because they really push the students there. It's known as one of the better schools in this area. In comparison to JMU or UVA, I'm not quite sure. I know that JMU & UVA are both very good schools as well from what I've been told.
I emailed my advisor and asked what classes she suggested. I have taken three of the initial classes as a non-degree student, 688, 715, 655. All on-line. I am part-time so this semester I am thinking about taking the first of the statistics classes, 643, and 713. Part of my decision process is I wanted to minimize my time going back and forth to the campus. YOu can see when the courses are scheduled by looking at the sections.
