George Mason University FNP Fall 2016

Published

Hi, I am wondering if anyone applied to GMU's FNP program for Fall 2016. Or if anyone is currently enrolled. I am applying and feel a bit nervous/noncompetitive when considering my overall GPA. The website states they want you to have a 3.0 out of 4.0 for the last 60 hours. However, I can't help but think they will also take into consideration overall GPA. Anyway, just wondering other people's thoughts/experiences with this school or admission rate. Thanks.

Oh well. I suppose it would have been polite to email us all and explain the delay. Back to waiting :)

I got an email that said for the DNP/FNP there will be a non mandatory group interview next week to meet faculty.

The office said this was just for DNP candidates not for those FNP candidates who were not going for DNP. Just FYI for those that applies to... like me.

just an update i received email on the group interview which i will attend this week. Just getting ready for this paper we must write once there. Anyone heard any feedback regarding this? Is this a new process? A friend told me it being non mandatory usually means a new pilot they are trying to see if this will help them in the future.

Hi, tanrn74. I went to the dnp meeting tonight. It was a small group of 9 applicants. The 3 faculty introduced themselves and we also gave a small intro. We were divided into 2 groups and asked to give a brief description of the hardest thing we acomplished in life. Then we were asked to write a few pragraphs about our story to turn in. They then asked for questions about the program. They will have a final decision next week for applicants. Good luck!

Thank you so much and good luck to you matter of fact I have faith see you soon as my classmate and our new journey :)

I wonder if the final decision for those not doing dnp will be next week too!

The office told me that for those NOT doing DNP we will hear by "the end of the month". I have not heard yet. Thanks for posting if you have any updates!

Th second group of interviews for the DNP/FNP there were only 11 of us on Friday. I guess we will get answers next week and this entire waiting game will be over!

That is good to know! I wonder how long it will take the grad office to contact us or if the school of nursing will contact us. Either way, there is no way to hurry the process.

It will definitely be by email will let you know soon as I know something!

This morning my application said 'Out for decision.' Now it says 'decision made.' I guess I'll just have to wait for an email from them?
