Usually they include both, but I have had many questions where it was one or the other.
The makers of the NCLEX, specifically say they include both generic and trade names in all questions. My guess is the questions you are referring to were drug classifications not drug names.

"31. Does NCSBN use generic and trade names on items with medications?
As noted in the sample item shown at the conclusion of the Pharmacological and Parenteral Therapies section of both the NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN detailed test plans, NCLEX uses the generic name in the item with the trade name in parentheses. However, some items may contain only general classifications of medications and therefore would not provide the generic and trade names."

what do nclex tests on , is it generic name or brand name of drugs. somebody told me that NCLEX gives generic only as it avoids brand names.
To which decimal place you round your answers in NCLEX ?
