What to do until Fall starts?

Hi!

Just wondering what everyone does with their time off between the end of Summer and Fall. I finish up a classes tomorrow (friday) then I have nothing to do until Sept 2!

I think I'm going to sit by the pool and re-read half of my A&P I notes since I know I have a lab test on the first day. I also think I might buy a book to read, any suggestions? The only think I have planned is a Baccalaueate party over Labor Day here in Vegas! Can't wait! Any maybe a trip back to San Diego.

What are you doing with that time? :roll

I take my last final next Friday, have a week off, and then start fall semester. Hubby, the girls and I are headed to Minneapolis (the boys will stay with gramma)....literally as soon as I walk out of my final. I'm going to shop and sleep and eat!! Every girl's dream. :)

After that, I plan to paint the dining room -- I bought the paint in January so do you suppose it has aged enough?! Then, clean, clean, clean!!

Summer semester ended today...whew..start right back up on Aug 20. Uhmmmm..lets see..with my week and not quite a half off, I will clean the house top to bottom and get in as much riding as I can..my horse has forgotten what I look like :)...and then there are the 5 chapters for Advanced Pharm that I need to start reading and will pick up the syllabus for OB tomorrow so there will be chapters to read there too...not much of a break..

I just moved from Maine back to New York, so I'm having a lot of fun with boxes and cleaning! I'm spending a lot of time with my son before school starts for both of us, and reading Echo Heron's books. School starts for me on 9/2.

Worked, started jogging again, reading, got back into church (since i now have Sunday mornings off).

Had this WILD idea that i might actually, you know, meet some more people and actually have at least one or two dates, to remind myself what a social life was.

BOY WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!! :chuckle

I've actually had off all summer which has been great. But, I Cannot wait to do something besides be car-mom, housekeeper, accountant, etc.

This may sound crazy but MY NURSING TEXTSBOOKS are starting to look like pleasure reading to me.

Book wise-some fun medical thrillers are written by Robin Cook. He's rad. Haha. I am getting ready for a nine day trip to Florida to visit my Fam and do Disney/Sea World and the beach. Fun stuff. I'm trying to get my house in order too. Good luck to you! Amy

Other than picking up as much OT as I can at the hospital b4 I go part time when school starts, I have decided to take the next few weeks to make myself a study haven.

I have been trying to make a study area for myself that is comfortable, practical, and enjoyable. I have my computer desk all set up and I purchased one of those large corkboards from Wal-Mart so that I can pin everything on it and always have it in plain sight. I have also been thinking about purchasing some classical music CD's to play while I'm studying. I've never tried this before, but it can't hurt. I plan on doing most of my studying at the library, but I think if I have a nice area set up, that it will encourage me even more.

As for books, I took the suggestion of many on this board to read Echo Heron's Intesive Care. It was the most wonderful book, and got me soo pumped up for school. I read it in 3 days, and laughed, cried, and just plain loved it. If any of you haven't read it yet please do, I promise you will love it. Good luck everyone.

I have some of my books and I am doing some perusing. Each day I try to read a little more in either my fundamentals, assessment or pharmacology book.

I have also been going through med term "made incredibly easy" and dosage calcs "made incredibly easy". I have been so anxious to start Sept 2 that it seems I am useless for anything else! I want to get some work done around the house... well, maybe in 24 months!

HI: I am enjoying reading what everyone did all summer. I have been done with summer session since July 10th, I have painted a bedroom, made a quilt (!), some clothes for school, and about to start painting a bathroom. I wished I would have gotten a summer job. I am bored! O, I am surely reviewing my math and nursing textbook. Next summer, hope I am working (as a nurse). :)

Sandy: I love it your saying at the end of your postings, "it is never too late to be what you might have been" Great quote. :nurse:
