What kind of scrubs to wear to class

Hi everyone I just got accepted into the LPN program and am starting school this monday. I'm wondering what kind of scrubs do people wear in class. Do people wear the prints or just a solid color or plain white? I can't believe I'm asking about scrubs, just yesterday I thought for sure I wouldn't get off that waiting list.

Congratulations! :balloons:

Just jeans and T-shirts for me. Are they making you wear scrubs?

We only wear a uniform for clinicals, any old thing for class. Some people wear scrubs because they work all day in a doctors office, etc. and come to class straight from work Check with your school. Ask some other students, and good luck with school.

We do as the posters above mention....street clothing for class; scrubs for clinicals and on days we have to go to the hospital to pick up pt info for clinicals...those that work in hospitals/dr's office might wear scrubs when they're heading to work after class...

And hey, CONGRATULATIONS!! :balloons:

we wear street clothing for class, professional attire and a lab coat for off campus nursing related activities and gathering patient information the night before clinical, and our whites at clinical.

We wore street clothing to class unless clinical occurred sometime during the day. I used to commute in conjunction with my job. I actually changed clothing in my car in the parking garage in broad daylight one time b/c I did not want to go to class in my uniform. The reason for this at the time, was that certain students (including me) were discriminated against b/c we had jobs. I did not want to draw attention to the fact that I had just got off work and drove for 1.5 hrs, or was intending to drive 1.5 hrs to go to work after school. As you can tell from my post, working people were not treated kindly at my school.

Thank guys. Yes we have to wear scrubs to regular class and I don't know why. Maybe it's because it's a private vocational type program instead of a college.

I am in an LPN program and we are required to wear scrubs to regular class as well. They just have to be royal blue, no particular style.

I am in a LPN program and we are all required to wear scrubs or we would be sent home if wearing anything other than that. We can wear any kind of scrubs....prints or plain. I just found it a lot easier to have all my school scrubs all one color. That way I don't have to worry about what color to wear that day. There is enough to worry about with all the studying and classes that you have. Course there are always some who push it to the limit wearing things like pj botoms. Good luck with school.;)

Don't go out & buy any until they tell you exactly what you can wear. We wear uniforms anytime we are in lab & of course in clinicals. And we ONLY wear what they have us wear. In our case in lab we can wear navy scrub top or our clinical navy polo shirt and our white lab coat if we're cold. We wear white uniform pants, NOT scrub pants. Anything else & we're not allowed into lab & get a zero for the class that day.
