i agree, you can do it!

Colleen,

Thanks... :) I did it b/c my frosh year of college was when I decided I wanted to do nursing. I didn't want to do an extended plan at school (couldn't afford it either). I was there on scholarships for track and I had four years to get my degree ... after that the fin aid and scholarships ran out. YOu had to be accepted and in the nursing program by fall of your soph year or it would take a fifth year. The choice was kinda obvious for me. I explained my situation to the admissions people, made a plan of action, and they agreed if I got Bpluses over the summer in all of those classes, I could start in the fall :)

I was fortunate enough to be 19 and still living at home during the summers (on campus during the school year). My parents couldn;t help with the summer tuition but I did have a place to live, eat, etc provided for by them. So at least I wasnt working full time ... I was just doing school work and running (training for the fall). :)

PS. I also lucked out that my Chem classes were in the morning and 8-12 except Tuesdays I think was 8-10 no lab and then AP classes were like 6-10 at night. So I had a nice break in between where I'd be bonding with my lovely books.

I will just be taking Chem and Sociology. I am hoping that the Chem class won't be too hard since I am already finished with Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology (this semester), and I had 2 years of high school chemistry. Plus my teacher I have had recently for my other sciences has included chemistry in those classes too. Good luck with whatever you do. I am sure you will be fine.

I am taking A&PI this summer it is an 8 week class two days a week lecture 3 hours a day then 50 min break and then lab 2 hours a day also taking nutrition but this is an open learning class(like independent study) and teacher is head of the Nursing Program she said just turn in assignments and don't have to come to see me but once every 2-3 weeks and can come on the M or W not on tue or thur when class/teacher time is so only 2 days a week whopeee!!!! will give me alittle break Maybe can do something with my poor neglected family

Can't imagine taking 2 or more science classes over summer you guys are way smarter than me

I did A&P I and A&P II over the summer. Ours were 12 weeks packed into 6 weeks. It was very intense and as another poster mentioned, I lived, breathed and ate A&P. It was tough but it was doable. Don't plan on having much of a social life though...you'll be looking at people using their phalanges when they use their femurs to balance themselves after a few drinks!!! LOL!

I was thinking of taking A & P 2 for Summer 1. I got an A in A & P 1...I guess it depends on how you are with the subject. I especially loved it!!!! It is going to be a lot of information condensed into 6 o 8 wks. (or however many weeks your summer courses are). If you think you can handle it...do it.

I am having the same issue. I am not sure if I want to take A&P during the summer. I work fulltime with two kiddos and hubby is "over there" I am really thinking long and hard if I should take this class right now. And if I decide to it will be the only class I do take.

Good luck to everyone that is taking this class this summer!
