Student Uniform - My Gosh!

Nursing Students General Students

Published

The good news – I was accepted into my nursing BSN program for next semester!

The bad news – we have a required white dress which is as thin as cheap drape, and the hem hits 2 inches above my knee when standing. When sitting or bending, it rides up even higher.

The dress code calls for white hosiery – pantyhose or knee-highs. Knee-highs? !!! If this didn’t come from the manufacturer, I would think it could be something for Halloween! Eek!

Usually indicate what year the student it (well that was how it worked where I worked) :)

Ah my lovely epaulets! Yeah they indicate the year that i am in which is really handy :D But the new students have got white tunic tops with black trousers, no indicators of their year

...so I stand by my statement that it was photoshopped (not very well). Though I would hate to have to wear either of them. I just don't like skirts.

Unfortunately, you're stuck with Mediao Nurse for the duration unless you and your classmates want to sue.

Heavy white support hose will help but not much.

My own best advice is to visit the menswear section of a local store and to stock up on men's shorts to wear under that thing. The material is thin and doesn't supply bulk but will give you coverage when you have to bend over.

Sometimes I think program directors hate students.:coollook:

UGH. A man had to have selected this uniform.

Do you have any idea the chub rub I would have with this uniform? Ew.

Dare I ask what is the chub rub???

LOL when you have flabby inner thighs and they rub together when you walk and you get a heat rash. Even hose don't really prevent for me... the control top part of the hose cut into my inner thighs as well and make it worse. It's torture, and I'm only a size 16!

Oh my, I am so sorry - how impractical! :( I think you and your fellow classmates should petition for a better uniform!

Oh ok, thanks for telling me, my thighs have always touched, even when I was a size 3. :stone

Not very practical if you're going to be doing patient care. It'll get stained the first day with some body fluid, but I imagine your male counterparts and patients will like it. Ugh.
