My name is Kelly, and I live in Massachusetts with my boyfriend, our 2 cats, and our puppy beagle. I have my bachelor's in European History from Suffolk University (yay class of 2006!), but tomorrow I start school at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, where I'll get my BSN. It's a 16-month program and there are only about 30 students in my class.
It's so great to read all the posts here, and I hope everyone's having a fantastic new year.

I am currently in my final semester of an ADN program in Illinois. YEAH! Finally the "light at the end of the tunnel!"
I am married with 2 children ages 7 and 5, and one step son who is 9. I currently work at a local hospital as a Nurse Assistant (level II) which is basically the aide that can do accuchecks! LOL...
I have always wanted to be in the medical field and have worked as a CNA since HS graduation. Always wanted more. Finally had the opportunity to go back to school 7 years later and here I am 3 years after that!
This experience so far has definately had its ups and downs but I know it will all be worth it in the end. I plan on starting my BSN within a year after ADN graduation and who knows after that!

I'm 29 w/a 10 yo daughter & like many of you, work F/T & attend school P/t. I'm in an RN program in NJ. I know it can be a bit overwhelming, however, we should all be proud of ourselves for those who are "returning" to school after all these yrs! :O) I am grateful for my seat in class & am driven by my goals...
Best of luck to all of us, (new & returning students), as we delve into the wonderful world of student life!

I am currently in my 2nd quarter of my 2nd year in the program. I am 21 years old, am an only child and living at home with my parents... still. haha. I am excited to get into this field! I went through Medical and Maternity rotation already and am currently in my psych rotation, so I have Surgical, Geriatrics, and Pediatrics left to go! As of this moment, I'm very interested in the maternity specialty, but I'm keeping my mind open to the rest. :spin:
This forum looks very helpful and I'm looking forward to becoming a part of it!

Feb 9, '07Joined: Feb '06; Posts: 4Hey everyone. This is Keystudent. I am back in the world of school. I hope it's a good thing. I just recently given birth to my 3rd child and I am getting back into school again. I am currently taking Microbiology this semester. I've applied to 2 differentand I am waiting to get accepted. If anyone has any good advice or websites for micro please send it. Thanks.
PS, Moms and wives if you have any advice on how to handle the family and the big baby (husband), please feel free to send any helpful advice or stories. Hey husbands if you have anything helpful to add please do so.
My husband is not 100% supportive. He doesn't help me with the housework, children, or study time. Sometimes I get discourage. Sometimes I feel as though he wants me to quit.
Here is one of his famous lines.... Haven't you been school long enough? I thought you were going for your 2 yr degree.
He doesn't realize I can't go full time because I have to still be super Mom for him and the children (ages: 35, 6, 4, and 6 months) + work. Hands are full.
We can do this. Let's just stay in touch and keep each other encouraged.
