How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.

I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.

Care to share?

Hi everybody! I'm new here- my name is Bridget. I start my first year in an ADN program next month and I'm excited but nervous. No kids and no hubby, but a super supportive BF and two wonderful dogs that I spend a lot of my time with. I'm so glad I found this site!

Hi

I'm Jeni I am working on en. ed. classes this summer and fall and will start nursing classes in Jan. 2007. I'm a 42yr. old single mom to 3 boys 18 (college freshman), 16 and 13. I debated about nursing in high school and went education. I decided when my marraige of 19 years broke up I needed to make the switch. I'm working as a CNA on Med/Surg and loving it. As people have said it's exciting but kind of scary.

I can't remember if I wrote it here yet. lol

I'm Abby, I'm 21 [almost 22]. I was born and raised in Maine and I'm still living here while I'm in school. I started the process of trying to get into nursing in October after leaving another university where I was a psych major for 2 years. I had to take Human Biology because I didn't take chemistry in highschool [i was home schooled in HS] it was my only requirement. I took and passed all of my placement tests. I took the NET, passed first time and thankfully was accepted soon after that into the ADN program at the community college in town. The same school my mother got her nursing degree from 15 years ago. I'm also lucky because there are no waiting lists here. They say on average there are 300 applicants and they choose around 40. I was one of them! So, this summer I took algebra and another class to get them out of the way and I ended up with a 4.0 for the first time in the history of my education and now I'm ready to go!:)

I start 2 months from today exactly. I'm so so so excited!:)

My name is Diana I live in Florida. I will be 26 in August. Im married with three beautiful daughters ages 5, 3, and 10 months. I was excepted last year in July to start the nursing program in August of 2007, but i have some good news just got another letter asking me I wanted to start in January instead so im gonna take the seat. Im so excited i think i can do it. Pass that is. Im confident that i can do good atleast i am hoping that i can do good. Life is crazy with three kids and working its gonna be hard but im willing to take the challenge. I really dont have any other choice but to do good. Its one of those do or die deals ya know. When i get feeling really stressed about starting the nursing program i just try to think about the future and what the ending result will be in the long run. So im very excited 6 months comes fast so i have to start getting things together now. Ok well thanks for letting me share i love reading all the posts on here its very enlightening to come on here. Thanks again

Diana

Hi I am Misty, mother and step-mother to 4, 3 girls and a boy ages 3-7. I am getting married to my wonderful fiance a week before starting school in August. I am going to a 2 year program in Bakersfield CA and am nervous as heck. Any advice would be so helpful. Talk to you all soon.

I'm Rachele, mom to an 8 yo boy and a 6 yo girl. My dh and I have been married nearly 9 years. When the kids were born we decided I'd stay home with them until they started school, then I'd start myself. I'll be starting the ADN program at a nearby CC in August. I registered for classes yesterday and ordered my uniforms. I have an older sister who has been an RN since 1993 so she's really helpful.
