HRSA 2014-2015 Nurse Corps Scholarship

Hello everyone, This is my second time applying for this scholarship and hope to get it this time around. I got accepted into Pace nursing program fall of last year but because of lack of funds I had to postpone it for this fall. My overall GPA Is 3.4 and I have EFC of 0. I submitted my application today and now the waiting game begins:nailbiting:. Wish everyone good luck!!!!

I do believe one person reported receiving the NHSC scholarship, it was on this thread about a few weeks ago around the 18th.

What is this portal that everyone is talking about? Is it only if you receive an acceptance email?

I was wondering if the credit check is part of the application process or they only check it for those who will be awarded? Anyone else who had his credit checked and has not received any acceptance email yet?

I applied to the Nurse CORPS scholarship last year. I did not receive a credit check and I did not receive the scholarship. I reapplied this year and I received a credit check this time around. Hopefully that will mean good news but honestly I don't know. Last year when I applied I was going to attend an ABSN program. However, I decided not to attend because of lack of funding. This time I am actually going to attend a direct entry-MSN program. Hopefully I will hear some good news in the coming weeks.

Drice777 - I received the NHSC scholarship and, more recently, the NC scholarship. I have until Monday to decide which one to take. I accepted the NHSC scholarship initially but someone from NC called me on Thursday to say that I could choose between the two. The NHSC is non taxed for tuition and fees but it looks like sites may be more limited? It's so hard to tell. NHSC definitely seems more organized and is more established. Not sure what I'll do yet? Did you get a NHSC offer?

My EFC is like 2000 and my GPA was 3.4. I was a Peace Corps volunteer previously. In case you were wondering because a lot of people said they only offered to EFC's of 0.

On July 31st I got the congratulations email. Does anyone know if receiving this email and getting in all necessary paperwork by the 7th of August means I got it? My status says "Finalist for Award"

I'm from Illinois and will be in a PNP MSN program this fall. My credit was checked on July 30th by the Dept. of Health.
