HRSA 2014-2015 Nurse Corps Scholarship

Hello everyone, This is my second time applying for this scholarship and hope to get it this time around. I got accepted into Pace nursing program fall of last year but because of lack of funds I had to postpone it for this fall. My overall GPA Is 3.4 and I have EFC of 0. I submitted my application today and now the waiting game begins:nailbiting:. Wish everyone good luck!!!!

I have been reading this posts like everyday...I'm from Maryland, I had a credit checked on the 30th, but haven't heard anything else yet. My credit sucks though so I hope it doesn't hurt my chances of getting this scholarship because I really need it. I have a capitol one credit card when you long in online it gives you details of your credit history so I got an alert and logged in then saw under new inquiries that my credit got pulled by the department of health...

out of curiosity, i didn't see it on last years thread, (i didn't check all 40 pages either), i know the scholarship is meant for those of EFC of 0 to 5500...

but what are the chances of getting it if your EFC is above 5500?

were there any cases as such last year? or ever?

Hello, I had my credit checked on the 30th but havent heard anything since then. I live in NY, Im a BSN student, my EFC is 0, my overall GPA is 3.57, and I also have volunteer experience with the underserved. Hope to hear something more back soon!

Hello all! Does anybody know what they look for in a credit check? Because I don't have the best of credit scores since I haven't really had one for long. To be honest, I have some small credit cards with a late payment or two and I have school loans but I don't have to make payments on them yet since I just graduated last year with my English degree (I know it's a lot different from nursing haha). I just wanted to know if those would make a huge deal in them making a decision. I'm young so my credit has only been around for like a year and a couple months maybe haha. They haven't checked my credit score yet and everyone that has been getting good news got there's checked before July 31st so I'm getting scared that maybe I just wasn't selected.

From what I have read, the credit check is just to see if we have defaulted on a federal loan. I don't think they care about it otherwise! ?

I just got my "Congratulations" e-mail! I'm doing my happy dance and kind of in shock!! I have to submit a couple forms and click "confirm" to accept the award!

this is for my second bachelors degree. It's an Accelerated BSN program in IL. I have a 4.0 GPA and an EFC of 0. My credit was checked on July 30 and I got the acceptance email today (August 1). My last name begins with a D.

Has anyone else been selected??

I got the same, but when I login to the portal instead of accepting the award it looks more like I'm a finalist and have the option of telling them I'm still interested. When I called they said no one has been awarded the scholarship, it's just the final round. Arrrrgh!
