for those of us who just got accepted to nursing school and have to wait 2 freaking years to start:cry: ...check in here!! :D

personally, i will have things to do next year though. i have to go through the nursing asst. program first (spring '07). then, we're allowed to take pharmacology and dosage calculations one semester before we start actual nursing school.

of course, there's all those immunizations to look forward to also! :uhoh3:

Why is the beginning so far away?

Why is the beginning so far away?

A long waiting list! :uhoh3: I thought there were many other schools around the country with 2 yr. waiting lists also. I know mine isn't the only one.

Specializes in Clinicals.

Well I'm hoping to start Fall 2007...but I'm probably gonna graduate from my BSN program either Fall 2009 or Winter 2010. Do I count?

Specializes in ER preceptorship, almost a year on PCU..

I just switched my major on Monday to pre-nursing and I'm going into my second year of college, so I'm gonna be applying to nursing school for fall '07, but I'm competing with those who started in pre-nursing and are guaranteed a spot with a 3.5. I need at least a 3.7.

Sure you do! I need all the company I can get! LOL

That is amazing to me...I can't understand the wait!

I was just wondering if your on any kind of waiting list i know the rn program i was in had a two year wait but i got in a year earlier.. but now there wait is even longer any more im now going into the lpn program and i still have to wait a year for that then im just going to bridge over to rn at a diffrent school. but if you cant get in any sooner take as many coures as you can before the actual program so you can focus on mainly the nursing classes. good luck

I know this postings are a little older but I just found out that I will be starting next august 2008 at Barry university in miami shores florida. It is a really hard program and is hard to get in to so that is why i applies so early, but now I have to wait! AGH!! Oh well at least im in right! well I just wanted to say good luck to everyone and good luck to the class of 2010~~!! (my grad date) OH yea, does anyone have any input on to what I should do for a year? Like what are some good books to read? thank you!!

Yay!!! FINALLY! Someone who's starting nursing school at the same time as me! I feel like we already have a camaraderie, Amanda! LOL

I will be starting Aug. 2008 at CNM (Central New Mexico Community College). I'm taking the nursing assistant courses this fall, because it's a requirement. They're only 10 weeks long though, so it shouldn't be too bad. At least I'm past the pre-req's now and will be in something more closely related to actual nursing!

As far as books to read while you wait, I've heard many RN's on here recommend re-reading your A&P books...for review. That wouldn't be hard for me, because A&P was my favorite class! :loveya: I'm currently reading How to Survive & Maybe Even Love Your Life As a Nurse by Kelli Dunham. She also has a book out called How to Survive & Maybe Even Love Nursing School, which is AWESOME, if you haven't read it yet! Do you have subscriptions to nursing magazines, like "RN" and "Nursing 2008"? Those are great to read as well.

Keep in touch!!
