Just wondering, what are the hours of you clinicals and how many call ins do you get a semester?

Thanks

My clinical hours are 0615-1615 once a week on Thursdays. We are considered the days clincals. Evenings are on Wed and Thurs 1730-1030 and the weekend clinicals are 0700-1700 Sat and Sun (every other weekend). We get 2 days a semester allowed in the classroom, no call ins for clinicals. Every missed hour of clinical has to be made up in one of the other clinical classes or you won't pass the semester. Something about mandated clinical hour requirements. :) What are your clinicals like?

We get one day a semester. I have found though that missed clinicals are missed opportunities for the instructor to evaluate my skills, etc, which is really important come evaluations. During Pediatrics we had so few clinicals and so many students that even though I didn't miss any clinicals, she never observed me doing an IV Piggyback and it hurt my med administration grade. I have to have one foot in the grave to miss a clinical.

Our clinicals are Wed/Thurs 2:30-7:30pm. We're starting this week so I believe if you miss you have to write some type of nursing care plan. I know if we miss Lab we have to video tape the skill and turn it into our instructor.

During the first Mod, we are allowed to miss 34 hours of class time, with dismissal at 35hrs. The maximum number of days you are allowed to miss in clinical is 2 days with dismissal on the 3rd day. (our mods run about 3 months. The first mod we don't start clinicals until approx 4-6 wks into it) Actually its not that bad because to miss 2 days in a month in a half where you only have 2 days of clinicals/week is a lot of time missed.

Hopefully if I have to be sick, it will be during lecture/class time and not clinicals.

Our clinicals are Thursday/Friday from 0700 to 1530. No missed days allowed.

7-7 on Tuesdays and I don't think we are allowed any misses. They would have to be made up.

We usually have two days a week six hours each and they allow two days clinical or lecture.

Any time missed has to be made up. We had a day off due to a sick instructor and have to go in the weekend after our final to make up. Some of us have to go in 1 day just for the sick day and others all weekend because of other missed time. Every missed day has to be made up.

clinical hours for our class vary depending on the student.

Days= mon/tues or thursday/fri 6:30am-2:30 pm

Eves= " " 2:00pm-10:30 pm

Also depends on the the instructor as far as the hours iwth a half hour give or take.

We are allowed to miss 2 clinical days a semester.

We started clinicals just one day a week 7-1, but next week we will be doing it two days a week, 7-3. I believe we may be allowed to miss one day as long as we let our instructor know, but it's one of those "extreme circumstances" situations. If we miss more than that we have to make it up and pay a fee for doing so (since the clinical instructor will have to take time out of their schedule to do it).

We are not allowed any missed days. If there are circumstances making it impossible for you to attend, there is a make up day pre arranged at the beginning of the semester. That is the only day to make up so you can only miss one.
