In addition - it just so happens that the 50 other students in class paid their tuition too and you have no right to rob them of their lecture time. How thoughtless, rude and insensitive can one person be? How is it that the person who answers the cell phone in class or allows it to ring thinks that they are so special that the rules don't apply to them? I suppose the speed limit, the nursing practice act and the unwritten rules of common courtesy don't apply to that individual either. He or she is entitled, right?

Oct 9, '06i know this sounds a little gradeschool-like, but it works. we are allowed to have cell phones in class but they have to be off or at least on vibrate. if someone has a call they have to take, they have to get up and leave the classroom. and they also get points taken off from the class, unless it has discussed with the instructor beforehand. if someone has a phone that constantly goes off, the instructors can actually take your phone and hold it until the end of the day.
just a suggestion to anyone that may find it frustrating to have your learning disrupted by the constant ringing.
Oct 11, '06Quote from Marie_LPNno one said they knew what you would think if you were a parent. What was said was you would think different if you were a parent.LOL so i can't know what i would think in the future if i were a parent, but you would know what i would think when i'm a parent?
Oct 12, '06Our instructor takes 5 points off of your grade everytime your cell phone rings......needless to say, they stopped going off in class.
Oct 14, '06Quote from jovHer point was that the person posting that tidbit of info has no way of knowing if that would be true or not. the term "you would_____" implies knowledge of something they can't possibly know.no one said they knew what you would think if you were a parent. What was said was you would think different if you were a parent.
