for me it was 3 days. It was an extra job and I realized I didn't need the stress of working
in a more stressful environment than my
main job so I never picked up shifts there.

Worked one 8 hour shift (orientation) and never went back because the human resources lady said, "Oh, you don't get paid for orientation." A few weeks later, I received a check in the mail for that one day.

Shortest time at a job that I quit? Nursing--it was a temp position at a major education/healthcare facility and when they offered me the permanent position I turned it down after just under 3 months because the commute was horrible (90 minutes each way) and the pay sucked (a dollar an hour less than what I made right out of school 5 years prior and I wasn't going to make that drive for $13/hour) and there was one MA in particular who was borderline bullying (she pulled me out of a pt room to room another pt even though I was in the middle of a testing procedure--she was just lazy).
Non-nursing--I quit after 3 days of waiting tables. I'd worked 4-close (11:00) the night before and had to be back at 6:30 to work 7-3 the next morning. At 3:30 I'd asked if I could leave, manager told me no because it was too busy. I had one table and they kept cominbing my table with another server's for that server's bigger parties. I asked if I could at least get a lunch I was told they don't schedule breaks, but I could buy a meal and try to take a bite between tables. I told the manager that I had someone waiting on me, they were watching my son, and I told them I'd be off by then because they had plans and I had to pick up my son. He said "okay, so you're quitting then?" I said I guess so and he made me hand in my apron on the spot. I just hope someone else finished up my table!

That's a story I'd like to hear.

At the time I was a four decades experienced....chital care RN, ....he did not like the way I did an EKG, of which I've only been doing since 1967...... He yelled and hollered "your learning curve is flat"........ I laughed, and reply in a most serious (not)... Dr " xyz"...... We are friends, and I respect you too much to contribute to your frustration in your own offic....... I'm going to lunch, & will not be coming back....... I took a job as DON in local LTC...a week later.....

2.5 days. It was a job at one of the most well known fast food restaurants. Midway through my third shift I took off my headset, shoved it at my manager, and told him to serve the order.
There were many reasons I decided I wasn't cut out for fast food, but my coworkers and manager topped them.
I'm pretty sure I'm on a "do not hire list" with that employer.
Oops, I just read all of the posts. Was this supposed to be nursing jobs only?
I had an indirect route to nursing.
