So confused ... what if the Foley doesn't have a sample port?

If it doesn't have a sample collection port, it's a cheap foley cath. This would require you to break the sterility of the cath/break the TES every time you need to do a urine sample or culture. So, if the culture comes back negative, the patient may now be positive after you opened the catheter to get the sample lol.

The sample port will be on the tubing, not the catheter itself.

I would apply a new sterile collection bag. You could clamp the catheter with an elastic or something that will not damage the catheter...

You should check your collection bag. Usually the port is on the tubing of the bag, not the foley itself.

you can aspirate from the tubing, without a port, but there is usally a port somewhere. The main idea is to be sterile, of course

To answer your question, though, you would get the sample from the arrow pointing at #2 with a 30 second scrub with alcohol prior to collecting so you don't contaminate your sample. Also, scrub when finished collecting, too, to minimize risk to patient.

Where is port on this urinary bag and how to take sample of patient with catheter above and this bag on it?

Are you in the US?

We don't use this bag for foley drainage. The best I can come up with......You will have to clamp the foley itself.....wait for urine to collect....get your specimen stuff ready....detach the drainage keeping the foley itself and tubing sterile wipe with alcohol....collect the specimen in the specimen container and re-attach the bag....or attach a new bag and collect the fresh specimen from the fresh new bag.
