Curious at what the average age is that people are in nursing school?
I am doing my pre reqs now and will be 28 when I start!

I am 29. I finished my prereqs lastFall and plan to start LPN program this Fall when I am 30. Plan to do LPN to ASN when I am 31.
There are many more plans in my future but I have enough to think about with just the next two years.
I feel like I wasn't really a grown up until my late 20's so I don't feel bad about putting school off for this long.

I started pre-reqs in '93 and have gone to school on and off since. I got married, had three beautiful babies and am starting nursing school in the fall of '07 at the chronological age of 33....but I feel like 23!!! I love having people from all different generations in my classes...I feel like I fit in with all of them.
It's nice to read of people who actually graduated, I know it will happen but it still seems unreal.

Hm... earned my CNA when I was 16 started LPN school when I was 17 I'm 18 now and graduate this May :) It kinda stunk because the hospitals wouldn't even hire me as a CNA until I became 18 this past summer lol

I was late growing up too, started nursing school @ 26, will be done when I'm 29. Then CRNA ASAP ! haha.
ps. Some people like my 3rd uncle never grow up, so no worries.

I was 23. Three years in secondary education at the university after high school, and then a couple of years off (in the payroll office at the box factory!) before I started the BS program at the U.

I was 27 when I started after leaving a career as a head chef. I qualified at the age of the 30. Haven't regretted it once. Believe it or not......
Whoa don't head chefs make a lot of money?
Why leave cooking?

I will be 50 next month. I am a newly minted LPN in LTC. I have done all my prereqs, Micro, A+PI, II, Chem, Bio, Psych for a LPN to RN bridge program. I also have a BA in Legal Studies/Political Science that I received at 30 years old. I have a 14 year old at home. Hope to get my RN and MSN by 55!!!

Went to college right out of high school - BS in Social Studies Education. Started pre reqs at 39 one class at a time (most classes transferred from first degree), full time nursing school at 41, and graduated 43 with diploma RN almost 2 years ago. Regret not starting sooner. Love it!!!
