Curious at what the average age is that people are in nursing school?
I am doing my pre reqs now and will be 28 when I start!
Whoa don't head chefs make a lot of money? Why leave cooking?
Indeed they do. However, they always ending up doing unearthly hours into the bargain! There is only so much that a body can take. Before you ask, yes the hours are worse than nursing. Trust me on this....
Besides, I always wanted to be a nurse. The reason why escapes me still but there you are.....
The chef gig actually was never planned. More of a happy accident of profession that I just happened to have an apptitude for. Go figure!!
I was 48 when I graduated with my LVN. I am finishing my prereqs for the RN and expect to be 51 when I graduate (I'm 49 now). You're never too young to follow your dream. I worked as a paralegal for 25 years but always wanted to be a nurse. It took losing my mom to MS two years ago to make me take a look at my life and say I need to be what I was meant to be a stop wasting time. God bless us everyone.
I was 18 when I first started the pre-reqs. Had my daughter at age 19 while still continuing school. Finished my pre-reqs at 20. Been on the waiting list for a year, and I start my 2 year RN program in 2 weeks! I'll be finished when I am 23!! Daughter will be 4 just in time for school when I do night shifts..can't work out any better than that! Yay! :yelclap:

I was just about to turn 31. Actually, I still am in nursing school and I still am 31, for another month at least. LOL!
