They wanted to fire you over what sounds like a huge misunderstanding over CANDY? Man, I'd be leaving that place fast. What a bunch of morons.

Theft of Gummi Bears is permitted. Theft of Snickers is Punishable by banishment and even death if its from me before a night shift in my busy ER. So let it be written. So let it be done. Look it up its in the Cat in the Damned Hat rule book.

Update, the nurse just called me and said that they are upset we took Doctors candy cos it was not for us to eat. That since they need nurse they will not fire her and since they will not fire her they can't fire nobody. So ladies and gentlemen , my nurse just saved the day, if this was just me an ordinary tech, they would have fired me over candy. The nurse offered to pay for the candy since they are so pained about it. I hope my own panel will go well and at lest termination is out of the way.
Good luck with your panel. I would think that, as an attorney, you wouldn't be overly concerned about facing a panel regarding accidental candy ingestion. Do they know you are a lawyer? Why not just casually drop terms like "unlawful termination" and "harassment"? Even if you no longer have a license to practice law, any "panel" in a hospital will surely not try and take advantage of somebody with your level of knowledge and education.

No sockings for nurses , they over worship the doctors on my unit. They are more like a demigod here
Where I work several doctors give the nurses gift baskets of fruit or candy. Never heard of a stocking filled with candy for the doctors. Why would it even be in the nurses station? Instead they should have left them in the Dr's office.

That said there was a poor cafeteria worker fired for eating an old donut that someone had left by the cashier and was going to come back with the money, but changed their mind and never returned. That donut would have been thrown away, not saved and they fired some poor soul over that. Talk about ridiculous and cold hearted!
