But i applied for a very challenging job positon, and i got it after the interview. Several people went for them (there were 2), and i got one. And i haven't said a whole lot about it, but you know how that rumor mill grinds!
Anyway, so when a classmate asked if i've gotten a job yet, and i said i had, and when she asked where at and i told her, her reply was "ha! what makes you think you have what it takes to do THAT!". After a brief, fleeting moment of where-do-you-get-off-being-rude thought, i said "well i guess i think highly of my capabilities, and have enough confidence in myself to KNOW i can do it, despite what some people seem to think or say". Yeah that was rude, but it also shut her up, too.
Thing is, quite a few people are saying things like "you're qualified enough? Really?" or "You REALLY think you can do that job?" or "They must be desperate to be hiring a STUDENT". And of course the ever-famous "you're just an LPN, SURELY you're going for your RN. Then you'll be a real nurse."
Just amazes me how rude people in school and the workplace can be, they don't even think before they speak. I've gotten to the point that where my job is concerned, if anyone makes a rude remark where my employment is concerned, i hope they're prepared for one coming right back to them.:angryfire No, it will definately not make me the better person, but it also sends the message across that what they are saying is beyond rude.
