I am not sure if there is any other thread similar to this one but I am just curious what is the most expensive, silly and /or least expensive gifts/ freebies you ever received from your hospital??

The most expensive gifts I ever got for my hospital is a bag with the hospital logo on it and the least expensive is those plastic fruits....they were just promoting health and well ness....I just wished they would give us lots of pen!!!

The cheapest is a plastic cup like you get at mcdonalds with candy in it for nurses week. The best was a tote bag with the logo that came with a reusable lunch bag with the logo and advertising nurses week.

last year a vintage 70's denim jacket with the hospital logo on it...i gave it away to someone who prized it.

the year before that an attractive watch with a leather band also with the hospital logo on it.

and welcome to allnurses.com shantas! this thread's been done before, but it's a fun one!

Garment bags with the hospital logo given for nurse's week. They looked like body bags!

Specializes in SICU, MICU, CICU, NeuroICU.

I have yet to receive the best thing.

The cheapest thing I got was an angel to hang on the christmas tree from the VP of nursing and to top it all off ... I'm Jewish!!!

Oh this is easy.

For my 10th anniversary, they gave me a tie tack* with the hospital logo on it.

I threatened to pierce my nose and wear it to work every day. (actually received a letter from my boss asking me to please not do that; she knew me too well)

thank you :)

we always get these cheap freebies from our hospital even my children dont want to play with them....lol

i work tomorrow and we are told we will get "free" thanks giving lunch tomorrow at work...( the boiled turkey or ham, mashed potatoes made from powder...you know!!) so i was just wondering what will my other fellow nurses get from their hospital:lol2::lol2::lol2:

A crystal (prolly not real crystal) with the logo embedded in it that sits on a lighted pedestal. Yeah I really want that front and center on my entertainment center....NOT. Last thing I want to see or think about at home is WORK.

At least you got a cup!!!! All we got was a plastic bag with a few lifesavers in it. We did get a very thin nylon bag once and the zipper broke the first time I tried to unzip it.

personally, i found it rather bizarre.

i mean, why not $20 cert for the entire store?

i'm not a meat lover.

i don't know if that was my best or worst present. :)

either way, i ended up giving it to the homeless shelter, where i volunteer.

so yeah, it was a helpful gift.

but a meat certificate??? :chuckle
