I go to nursing school in Conroe. I hadn't planned on working at Texas Children's but thanks for the warning.

Did ped clinicals there a few years ago. Seems like it hasn't changed. It was the worst clinical experience of school; and, because of the 'attitude problem' there, our school suspended all future clinicals with them. I am so sorry for you, it's a hard place to work. I hope you can find a new job before they wear you down.

That's disappointing. I've been a patient at TCH since shortly after birth 28 years ago. I'm very lucky to have had a positive outcome from my condition and I owe it largely to expert neurosurgical care that I received there. However, I haven't been an inpatient in over ten years. I volunteered there at one time, but I've never been an employee. I know those factors limit my perspective.

What I've learned though: Some employees and managers are mean at every hospital - or even every business.

True, but when it's an employee here and there, it's the person. When it's the majority of the hospital, it's the organization.

That's a shame. I have been working at Texas Children's for over 2 mos. as an RN and LOVE IT!!! I love the floor I work on, the staff, the patients, the management, the benefits, the pay...EVERYTHING!!! I drive a ways, but it is worth it and I do it with a smile because I've worked at a local hospital and they aren't even in the same league. It is hard to get on at TCH. You can tell by the job listings. there usually aren't many RN positions open.

To each his own...some things may be good for one person and not another. Just means that it may not be the place for you. You'll find it! Best of luck to you!!!

Ir seems to me...the more prestigious the institution, the meaner and more back-stabbing are the nurses.:o

I did several clinicals at TCH and LOVED the staff. Every floor I was on was great.
