Hurtling small amounts of lead or copper jacketed pieces of hot metal at high velocity while smelling burned cordite and having lound percussive noises in my ears.

Now you're talking!
Wait, you are using inanimate targets, right?
Yes! John Wayne Gacey, but also the clown from the movie Poltergeist, and the one from the movie IT. SPOOKY!!!!!!!!!!!
And then there are "those clowns that are littering up our country side..." (quote, Clint Eastwood.) That totally finished me with clowns.

BAD IDEAS, But they work for the short term:
1. ETOH of choice, PO. Titrate for effect.
2. Benzo of choice. Never mix with #1.
Seriously, either of the above will work in the short term. But overall, the key to stress management is what works for you.
Exercise.
Sleep. Lack of sleep can really hurt you and makes the bad...worse!
Good food.
Hydration.
Time out.
Massage.
Laughter.
A good book.
Pets. A cuddly kittie or loving lab can take you from yourself.
Sex. Having sex 4-5 x a day leaves me little time for stress or complaining.
Bottom Line: Just do what makes you feel good. Sounds simple, but it will work. Your life will be better for it.
REMEMBER: Before you can care for others you gotta take care of yourself!
Choose to be HAPPY! :) :) :)
Update: Thankfully, I had the luxury of a 4 month vacation and I am now back at "work". I find myself in a position that I am grateful to be in. No, the stress is not out of it. It is a different kind of stress and I work EVERYDAY at making my life what it can be. I am feeling a bit blessed these days and in complete wonder of just how wonderful things can work out!

If you are working back to back shifts a little Eminem cranked loud on the drive in always brightens me up.

LOL Canoehead I read your post too fast as I thought it said Enima until I continued reading only to think how hard it would to crank an enima loud and to do it whuile driving, and then to say it brightened your day.
