Hi

I am 46, married, 3 kids and am starting the RN program in January...unless I can get it moved up to Fall (AUg). It is too late for your input, I have an orientation tomorrow at 9AM. I am accepted to the FULL TIME program starting in January. I now have a full time job= 3 12yr shifts/week at the hospital working 7p-7a. I don;t think I want the full time...OH I could do it, but I am tired of sacrificing my time with the family and kids growing up. So I will try to get in the part-time program, but that sucks because it will take me 2 semesters longer and I really wnat to get on with it...Oh by the way, this is my first time posting, nice to make youe acquaintance...I just don't want to get in the part-time progrm and go "Oh Crap!!! I could have handled the full-time ....." You know? Nice to meet you all, you can call me Dan. So yeah, encourage me if you can...I am getting too old for all this stress LOL!!!

No, no dear!!! You are not too old for "all this stress", cause if you are, you are entering the wrong profession! You are funny. Take your time and do the part time....since you don't want so much stress. Welcome to the group.

You might be stressed & SUPER busy for a couple of years but it will be worth it in the end!!! Any way to cut back to working part-time so you can do school full-time?!

Good Luck!!!

Two semesters to me would seem like a long time but I just want to warn you that if you go full time to school its not just full time classes but you also have clinicals the time before clinicals that you have to gather info and a bunch of other things that seem to just crop up that you have to go to for school. If your not in a super rush I would go part time. My :twocents:.

If you must work full time, I would suggest going part time to school. The time will pass whether you're in school or not,,, whether you're in full time school or in part time school. You will learn more going part time because you will have more TIME.

Time is the key here.

Good luck!
