It is the management

At one of my jobs it feels like the NMs could not give a rip about what is going on as long as no one has the nerve to complain. It is taken as an attack on their competence rather than a quest for improved patient care. I have seen it happen with others as well as myself and lately I am positive that is why they seem to prefer the new grads who wouldn't open their mouth if their life depended on it over someone experienced with insight to offer. I guess this means its time to make a move. What a shame most of my coworkers are awesome but it is management that is...well you know.

Sorry for their loss...

Sorry for their loss...

Thank you for your kind words. Happy holidays, Jules

Newer employees are so overwhelmed that they don't even know what to complain about! So the rest of us move on.....

Well that just sucks. Hard for me to learn if all I get to work with are doe-eyed, first ever real job, early-20 somethings. Jules, don't go.

Yep, I have found that a lot of NM's love the 'sheeple'.

Thank you for your support but no worries there will be others with experience that will stay although we have lost quite a few gems, imo. I really need to go before my fat mouth finally does me in. :D

Actually I think it is a comment on their competence, which is well deserved. They are allowed to critique our performance and they are immune? Oh wait, they are critiqued by their bosses, now three steps removed from bedside care, if nurses at all. It's just not a good system, but that's what it is. They say most people quit their boss, not their job, and I've found it is completely true.

Exactly how I felt (and probably the reason I was let go from my first two jobs!

I couldn't keep my mouth shut like the other new grads!). It amazes me that places work

this way. What a waste of money!

I'm in the same boat. Done what I can to raise a stink. 100% agree with "Most people quit the boss, not the job".

Good luck to you Jules!
