If you were a stripper and have nude photos ten years ago will you get hired?

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I am just wondering if there is anyone out there who is working as a nurse that has a history from a long time ago of stripping and a couple of nudes? It's in my past and by the time I'm licensed it will have been over ten years ago. I'm a different person now by far. I always read about strippers here in Nevada being nurses as well. There is also an actual Media star who is working as a phlebotomist here and is open about it.

It is attached to my real name due to a troll/stalker exposing it on an instagram page. I'm sure if I get a lawyer they would take down the page, but so far instagram has been playing dumb. I just don't want to live in fear that if it surfaces again that I'll be fired or feel like I have to hide it.

Were you underage at the time?

I would use the report function on whatever social media you find these pictures.

So unless you were underage, stripping is not illegal. Neither is "modeling" nude pics. Unfortunately, sometimes when one is caught up in that lifestyle (and there's lots of women who have/are) one tends to sign consents that give away their right to control what happens to their pictures.

I know that there's a "good moral character" portion of nursing IN SOME STATES. Which is another thread entirely, as I have my opinions on that--however, it couldn't hurt to run this by an attorney that is learned in nursing issues if you are in or plan on working in a state that has this as a stipulation.

Depends on the photos?

Were there animals involved?

I would think that would be up to a) whether or not an individual employer discovers the pictures/information, and b) whether or not the individual employer cares. I'm sure some employers wouldn't bat an eye. Others might have a problem with it. No way to predict.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. What you did when you were younger should not translate into who or what you do now. People learn from things and move on. I highly doubt your employer is stalking instagram for nude photos of employees. Speaking of that if you could just PM me the link to verify!!! :woot:
