You could work full-time with just a half loaf like that. It really depends on how hard you are willing to work.

full time

I've been doing 6 graduate-level credit hours per semester and working full time, as well as doing 16 hours of clinicals a week. It can be done.

In grad school I worked full time+ when taking 12 credits.

Agree with all the full-time comments. It's all about how good you are at time management.

I worked full time with 18 plus credits including sciences and I had two part time jobs as well. You can do it if you stay organized.

7-8 credit hours? I worked full time (40+ hours per week). That is pretty light in terms of college courses, even including A&P. That being said, my kids at the time were teens and didn't need me as much as littles would. There is a lot that feeds into this answer beyond how many credit hours and how many hours worked. How much of a social life do you want to have? How many children do you have? How much money do you need to make to crack your nut?

I worked 55-60 hours per week while taking 15 credits: It was a few years ago, but I think it was Chem, Anatomy, Human Growth/Development, and Speech? I can't fully remember. I just remember having no life. But I'm also the type of person that thrives under the pressure. I would never ever want to go back and do that again though!

The nationally recommend standard for the determination of credit hours is that each hour of academic credit should represent approximately 3 hours of work per week for a full semester (12-14 weeks).

Also, some students are faster learners and/or more efficient workers than others.

But in the end, it would be reasonable to expect to spend about 24 hours per week for a full semester on schoolwork if you are taking 8 credits. If that work is condensed to an 8-week time period, you should be prepared to spend more hours per week.

I write this knowing that most students do not actually spend that much time and many schools have watered down their requirements to make their courses less demanding. That's one reason why some schools are more respected than others -- and one reason some students learn more than others.

I agree with most everyone saying full time. My last semester of nursing school pre-reqs I was working full time while taking A&P II and Micro at night. My free time basically consisted of schoolwork but it was definitely manageable; I'm just a procrastinator

but as others have said it also depends on what other obligations you have outside of work and how much time you need for yourself, etc.
