Help! Question re NCLEX & License!

I applied to taket eh nclex in my CURRENT state in July, but have just been offered a second interview in another state. I was told that I would ONLY be eligible for this job if I can have my license in their state by Aug 9,2010.

Is there any way to change the state I am applying for the license in prior to taking the NCLEX? I am afraid if I wait, pass the test and then apply to get recognized in the new state it might take too long!

Any advice on how to fix this?

No! Unfortunately it is not! I am afraid to change it to their state, and then have them not hire me! What to do, what to do!

I agree with belgarion, you need to contact pearson vue today.

Another thing, you need to find out if switching the test and meeting that deadline is even doable. If you can't make the switch in time then the whole question is academic. Try to keep it to one crisis at a time.

Check with Pearson Vue....but I believe it will cost $$

Also see how long applications are taking with the new state, seeing as Aug is just over 5 weeks away you may not get sorted by then

Depending on the state of original licensure, How long it takes them to give you a license number in order to get endorsment in another state should only take about 2 weeks, GOOD LUCk.. I just passed my boards in missouri but live in ILlinois and am applying for endorsment and was told in doesnt take long but im still waiting for original license number from missouri, GOOD LUCK TO YOU

Some states grant temp licenses with valid licensure in another state. I would be afraid that changing the state you requested licensure from would result in a greater delay because the new state would need to review your application based of their guidelines and then submit your ATT to pearson vue. I would keep your current state, test asap, and submit the application to be licensed in the new state - in person if possible so you can find out if you can pay to rush it. Good Luck!
