Getting stir crazy!

Hey everybody :)

I graduate on May 18th (at 2:00pm, since I am counting down the HOURS). My fiance and I are closing on a new house May 2nd, and he is moving to our new town next monday so that he can be starting his new job, getting the last details on the house done, yadda yadda yadda...

My problem is... I am SO stir crazy! All I want to do is pack and get OUT OF TOWN! I've been in this town a hellish 4 years for school, lived in a dorm for 2 years, lived in this apartment for 2 years, and i am SOOOOO ready to get out!

I just ordered 40 packing boxes!! I am going to pack stuff up and live out of boxes for the next month just because packing will atleast make me FEEL like I a getting closer to my goal.

Were any of you like this just before graduation, or am I just going insane??? All I can think about is wallpaper, paint, carpet patterns, lightbulbs... and PUPPIES! since I am getting 2 yorkies as soon as a graduate :)

I just needed to blow off this steam that the 18 holes of golf didnt do yesterday. Granted, my shoulders hurt, but my brain wont slow down!

Any of you feel this way too when you were getting ready to graduate? My brain feels like ive got my finger stuck in a light socket.

Yes, I felt the same way. But I do have to say that I enjoyed my friends in school also. Remember to enjoy your time left in school because you never can go back to yesterday. Also good luck on your boards.

Brandy - you are not alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was exactly that way when I was getting ready to graduate and even worse when my husband and I closed on our home a year ago. I still get excited and worked up when I go into a Home Depot or Lowe's and think about light fixtures, paint samples, everything! Plus, spring is upon us so I'm sure that's adding fuel to your fire. I say make use of all of your extra pent up energy and start packing. Might as well put it all to good use. I started packing up our apartment the night we found out we got our house, and we weren't even actually moving in for 2 months.

Good Luck!

Brandy, when I was in nursing school we (my hubby, kids and I)decided to move from MI to TN. Graduation and my moving date was June 25, my husband moved in early march. It was the longest time and stir crazy time in my life. It was just me and my daughters here, I kept busy. I invited the kids friends over and I visited people and did things that I could only do in MI, in our hometown. And I slowly packed, which kept me busy. Don't worry you'll get through it and it will be worth the wait in the end. Take care and good luck!

Medsurg gives good advice!!!! I miss school!!!!!!! I cant wait to quit my job and start my program full time! I got my original Bachelor's a few years ago and at that time I was feeling stir crazy like you! I couldn't wait to get out and get a job to make some money. While the money is nice, I miss "college life"! I'm "chompin' at the bit" to quit my job and go back to school full time for my ADN!!! Good things come to those who wait and while you're waiting you may as well stop to smell the roses!!! Hmmmm...well I'm all out of cliches for now! Just take it one day at a time! ;) I guess I wasn't completly out!!! :D

I loved every moment of being in college! I miss being a student to this day, and look forward to returning to school as soon as we get the heck out this super humid and oh so hot State of Texas! I've never wanted to move so bad in my entire life! HACHOOOOO!!!

This is a very exciting time for you Brandy. Graduation, starting a new life with your fiance, moving into your own home for the first time, and embarking on a life as Mom and Pop to your two little Yorkies that you are going to absolutely spoil. I know -- I use to own one. ;) Congrats in every way possible! You deserve it all! Enjoy! (((hugs))) and :kisses. :)

I wondered what kind of puppies you decided to get:) Yorkies are sooo cute.

When we moved, it was 4 months after graduation. Well, that was a year ago & I STILL haven't unpacked everything. LOL Just too busy (work, kids, dogs, hubby's gram, & LOTS of yardwork). But, I guess it is all stuff I don't need anyway. I should just go through everything & send it to Goodwill or Amvets.

And, no, you are not insane. . . just ready! Have fun picking out those paint colors.

your going in sane just as you thought. Psych beds are scarce you better start making a reservation.
