fOREIGNER NURSES NEEDED HELP!

THEY DIDN'T MENTION ABOUT TSE .

I TOLD HIM ABOUT I HAVE PASSED TOEFL TEST AND I'VE BEEN HERE FOR YEAR AND A HALF .IF THEY ASKED ME TO TAKE TSE I MIGHT CONSIDERING TO COMPLETE THAT TEST ,BUT MY INTERIM PERMIT IS LIMITED TIME FOR 6 MONTHS SO I WILL EXPLAIN TO THEM LATER IN CASE IF THEY NEED ME TO TAKE TSE.I WILL LET YOU KNOW ABOUT WHAT DO THEY SAY TO ME IN THE FUTURE .

IN MY RESUME ,I HAVE REFERENCE FOR MY WORKING WITH NURSING TEAM AT NURSING IN USA FOR 7 MONTHS SO I THINK THEY MIGHT CONSIDER THAT POINT AND PLUS I HAVE AMERICAN'S FRIENDS WHO WERE MY CHARGED NURSE AND MY DON SO I HOPE NURSING RECRUITER WILL BE CONSIDERED ME .

Did you actually get a job offer from there after they reviewed your application? Did they say anything about not having completed TSE yet?
Curious as to the information that you are actually getting from the hospital as I know of several people in the same league as you. The hopsitals that they talked to would not offer anything until all English parts were completed. Sure, some have offers and have a year to complete the English to start work, but who knows if the hospital will have the same openings then................................ :balloons:

Hi, I took my test for RN last Tuesday .I took 75 questions and now I got the result.I think I didn't do it good but guess what !!!

I passed Yeah!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to go to CA .I cried like insane because I didn't expect anything from it .All I care is I need to try the test.

My 1st time and I did it .This is the big step for me :rotfl:

Hi Aun; Take some English classes and apply at the VA. They are very supportive of foreigners. One of the nurses I worked with could not speak any English. I asked what he did to learn besides classes. he told me that he watched TV in English so he would learn the words & how to pronouncate them correctly. That might help too. :)

Hi ,I'm foreigner nurse who is in CA ,waiting for NCLEX test but I'm non speaker english but have passed English test and TWE (writing test ) (TOEFL )
I 'm going to get interim permit license sometime this month .I'm looking for info. because some hospitals didn't accept application from me because of I'm not trained in USA .Do you have any friends who is in the same situation semilar to me ?
If you know any hospital which accept Interim permit from foreigner nurse please leave message to me.I will be appreciate for your help.

I knew that you could do it, now you just have to complete the TSE and you are well on your way to becoming an "American" nurse!

:rotfl: I work at the VA Hospital in Missouri and all we care about is that you can do your job, not were you come from.

what a co-incident! .I 'm working at VA nursing home missouri too:) We are joining the same organization but different position.I have to wait for MO state board of nursing issue my temporary permit then I can statrt what should I do next. I think I have no problem about communication ,but writing .I'm so stressed .I got a clinical book and nursing procedure books .I hope they will prepare me for RN job.

By the way, anybody know what is Medical telemetry RNs do ?

Telemetry patients are on heart monitors. So the nurse taking care of these patients would need to know how to read rhythm strips. More cardiac drugs are used on this type of unit. The hopsital should be giving you a regular orientation, just as they would new grads coming into the facility. Just make sure that you ask questions if you don't understand something.............

I would start to talk to the director of nurses to find out what the RN salary is and what your salary will be when you get your permit. If you don't have a tv you should get one to see how english is used in everyday conversation.
