strange question, i know. but do you? i just got home from work about an hour ago and i'm looking at my forearms and thinking i'm insane. i have 3 set's of vitals and a reminder to check room 5's IV at 2150. :chuckle

I don't write on myself....but I am famous for writing on paper towels. God forbid if someone is picking up trash and throws it away! We also write on the sheets during codes all the time.

I don't write on myself, just other poeple. Ha :)

Yep! I write on my left hand too! :)

I have to! With everything else I have to carry around, I don't have room for paper!:)

(Although I do have a pad of paper on my med cart that I refer to as "my brain".)

Nope, never write on myself, but I've seen body notes on other staff. :)

I grab a paper towel and write on it if I need to, or an alcohol pad cover. :nurse:

Hahaha!!! Yeah...I writte on myself too...!! Forget the paper towel it always gets lost!

Guilty of writing on the sheets both during codes and other times when I need to write something down like yesterday :p

I have been known to write vitals on scrub pants in an extreme pinch. but not on hands if i can help it. I just hate that for some reason (as if scrub pants look any better, I know)....

yes i do use my left hand to write vitals etc when i don't have my board with me. i can't lose it that way. i tried paper towels etc but they got tossed when i would wash my hands. i work in peds and when a little patient saw me do it she told me that i shouldn't be writing on myself--that what her mother told her. that's what i tell my boys too, but it's more do as i say not as i do.

lol....my arm is my best reminder!!!! I write last minute stuff & reminders on my hands & arms. I will not forget this way. If I have to stop heparin & restart at a different rate or draw a second set of bld cx, these things happen over a short period of time. In case I get involved in something else where my board is not present, I have my hand or am to remind me!!!!

left hand, scrubs, and paper towels !!!!:p

and the sheet (but got in trouble by housekeeping for that, but still use it in a pinch):nono:

I used to write on my hand but it kept getting washed off before I got around to charting it.

Yeppers. Don't know HOW many times a dr has phoned with new orders, I get called out of a room and scribble it all down on my left hand.
