RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! BEWARE......

Achieve Test Prep are crooks! They lock you into a contract making you pay 46% of $13,000 after canceling ONE class. They will attempt to reach you several times to get you to sign, making promises they will not keep. If you fail the test, it takes 6 months to be approved to test again and you have to pay for it again.ATP promises LPN to RN in 12 months but in reality it will take 2-3 years AFTER you pass the exams and the time it takes to schedule clinicals or retake exams. They don't offer help or tutoring, although they say they have a program called achieve 911. You can NEVER get a hold of anyone- all conversation or questions need an APPOINTMENT! Then they will send an email saying "Sorry, we tried to reach you" when in fact they DID NOT!. They lie and their promises are only VERBAL- Nothing in writing!. They STOLE over $5,000 for ONE CLASS. Save your money! ENROLL in a community college.

Seems pretty clear/forthcoming, no?

It does.

Question for the group--what are the tests the OP is talking about? Why does it matter if you 'fail' a test prep course? What clinicals is the OP referring to?

Hard lesson learned too late. :sorry:

I went on their site and yes at first, they make themselves sound like a bridging nursing school until you read the lengthy footnote that they are only a test prep site.

Thank you AN members for posting about this business many years ago and now.

Isn't this the entity that a few years back was suing AN and involving several AN members? I wouldn't be dealing with them on this site just to be safe.

Hey, that sounds familiar! I wondered where I knew that name from!

They'll also mail stuff to you. My husband received something in the mail that implied he could earn his RN. One search revealed just what I needed to know.. SCAM.

Does anyone know of any legit online courses? My community college is telling me that my general ed./pre-rec courses are expired and that I will have to retake them all. I have been working as an LPN for almost 14 years. I believe it is 2 semesters worth of nursing classes for my RN license.

I am not lazy, I just get so frustrated about this. I worked very hard but I quite at the LPN level for certain reasons, with the intention of returning. I paid for everything out of pocket and worked full time while going to school. Just want a little break. :-(

Does your community college offer online sections? If so, then take them there and you won't have to be concerned with transferring the courses.

I just went to the website, and it honestly doesn't make it impossible to discern it from an accredited program. I think the goal of this is to allow you to take online classes through their site and then test out of classes at a college, which is kind of silly. I don't think you can test out of RN classes anyway because of the clinical aspect, it will still take you the same amount of time to get through a nursing program. I certainly wouldn't want a nurse who tested out of nursing courses! The problem with this is when you test out of a class you only get credit at whatever college you tested at, it is not transferable.

Bad idea and just another way for someone to make money!

I definitely want to take my nursing courses! I just don't want to take (and pay for) my pre-rec's again (English, math, elective gym, etc.) It just seems like a waste to me. :-(
