  1. If you won the powerball lottery, would you keep your nursing license or turn in your badge?

I'd keep it. I'd keep my license up "just in case" but I would definitely QUIT work and maybe open a greenhouse or something more rewarding.

And then I would travel the world.

Well, I already renewed, so I'm good until 2004. After that, I probably would, but would work only 2 days a week. I would need something to break up the monotony of "the good life". I would probably suffer withdrawal symptoms, you know, lack of daily abuse from docs, pts, administration, etc, etc. LOL

yes I'd still maintain my license...would I work in the field, not on your life....but there is always the just in case periods in ones life...LOL I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up....I'm 41

I'd keep it and build on it by returning to college so I could become a Public Health Educator, maybe even a NP. Either way, I'd keep my options open. It's not good to put all one's eggs in one basket. A little diversity would be a wise move on anyone's part since we never know what may befall us.

I would keep my license current but would not work in the field. But, with the hours we keep- who has time to buy a lottery ticket?
I bought extra large house numbers for my home and I cleaned out my garage a long time ago so the Readers Digest Delivery Van could get in when they brought me my million...but they must still be lost because I haven't seen them. If any of you see them point them in my direction- and if any of you happen to buy MY winning lottery ticket (by mistake of course); E-Mail me so we can make arrangements for me to pick it up from you so I can cash it in...maybe I'll be driving the R.D. Van!!!!

I surely would quit. I'd keep my lic. up though. I would imagine that it would be a liability to continue to work if others knew you were worth millions. I would think they would be making up things to sue for!

:roll :chuckle :chuckle Yeah Right!!-- Even if half went to taxes I'd find a DAM* good personal investor. I would also want to volunteer and donate money. There are way too many interests and hobbies to keep me busy without EVER wanting to nurse again. (From a Very burnt-out ICU nurse of 10 1/2 yrs with knee arthritis):roll :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

I would probably still keep my license, just in case. I would not be using it though. After 27yrs of on my feet, aching back, bad knees and hips nursing I would give my body a break. I'd be joining NannaNurse on the island with no sick people!!!
