What are views out there on male nurses versus female nurses? What are some different characteristics you guys notice?

Male nurses tend to have external genitalia. Female nurses, internal. What are you looking for ?

Male nurses tend to shave their faces more often, females their legs. Is that what you're wanting to know?

Your question is rather vague, or perhaps all-encompassing?
Are you asking if/how traditional gender roles affects a nurse's career?
Or what the views are on male and female nurses? (Whose views? Other nurses'? Patients? Other healthcare professionals? Society in general?)
Or do you want to know if posters on AN have noticed any characteristics unique/exclusive to either male or female nurses?
Is this homework?
For what it's worth, the different characteristics I notice in my male and female co-workers I largely attribute to personality, not gender.

A female gynecologist told me, "I will NEVER go to a female gynecologist. The men are just gentler and sweeter and respect the goods."
So I asked, "What about nurses?"
She sighed dramatically and said, "Oh heavens, yes! Give me a girl nurse to work with because she is better at remembering detail and follow through and patient education, but if it's me in the bed, give me a sweet, strong, manly murse!"
Me and my wife died laughing.

Good grief..
This gynecologist sounds like a real gem
Personally, if I'm sick enough to be in a hospital bed I couldn't care less about how manly my nurse is Competence on the other hand would be high on my wish list, regardless of the nurse's gender
Did this physician actually say girl nurse? I didn't realize minors could be registered/licensed nurses (cue more eye rolls) ---->
I can't decide if her characterization of male nurses or female nurses is the most disparaging, just Not to mention her opinion of female physicians (which she happens to be)
People never cease to amaze me
Lol. She's a Puerto Rican. We're not known for standing on decorum or being politically correct.
