Hello I was wondering if anyone else applied for fall 2019?
Yes in the previous post that I’ve read they sent emails the first Friday in March, and hold interviews the last two weeks of March. So hopefully we should find something out this Friday. I want to call and ask but I’m sure they are getting plenty of calls and I don’t want to annoy them. lol
I really hope that doesn’t affect me too much :/ and that other things in my app will make up for that..they said the first week of March? So I don’t know if this Friday or next week? Thankfully I haven’t been as anxious but I do get nervous when I think about it. I had emailed another advisor and she didn’t want to tell me anything lol I emailed her this week like the 25th and she responded yesterday and told me the committee was stil reviewing apps! That gets me nervous cuz i think it’s prob too many ppl :/ So I think maybe til next week we will receive emails . Also I read in a proposed plan for gghson that their goal for this year and the upcoming is to increase the number of students enrolled so hopefully that helps...Also they are building the new dentistry school part of Texas tech El Paso
In the thread I was reading regarding Fall 2018 cohort they sent out emails March 2nd and they sent the emails out around 6pm. I'm really hoping we find something out by tomorrow, I don't think I can make it another week with this anxiety. lol You will not be let down, with the stats you have you are a competitive candidate. That would be amazing if they increased the number of students they accept for this fall. It would give us all a greater chance of being accepted.
Hi everyone! I stumbled across your thread and thought I'd comment. I'm currently studying at GGHSON and remember how nerve wracking the interview process was. It's really not as bad as you all are imagining it. Breathe. Just practice some answers before you go but don't go in sounding reheorificed. just have a general idea about what you want to say. Also, go in dressed to impress. Bring a portfolio (I included letters of recommendation from my professors attesting to the type of student I am, my resume, personal statement, and a cover letter thanking them for their time and that I was looking forward to studying there) make sure you ask questions about the program during the interview. Be engaged. It's a very rigorous program so they want to make sure you are up to the task. If you have retaken classes tell them what you learned from that (better study habits? Taking it more serious?) If you got an interview your chances of getting in are pretty good so breathe, go in there and be yourself. Also save like $2000 because supplies add up FAST.
Thank you so much for responding and for helping answer some of the questions we've been stressing over. lol That is an incredible tip, it never occurred to me to bring a portfolio. Also thank you for giving us an idea of what to expect if we do get an interview. I've started saving, but haven't even taken into account supplies. lol
Thank you so much for the tips!! I had also never thought about a portfolio or what questions to ask back about the program. We all hope to be considered.that just put some of my nerves at ease I really hope we do get a chance.. I guess we didn’t hear anything another week it goes ? it seems as though they favor Friday’s to send out emails so girls pray pray very hard and most imp pray with faith! I hope good news are send our way and if any of us do get any not so good news that we find the will and strength to continue pursuing our career goals as this is a career that needs a lot of true dedication !
Also I wanted to add girls that they for sure will as about retakes from what I’ve heard also if you do have a perfect academic history they might ask something along the lines of any challenges or growth experiences you’ve had that have made you pursue this career regardless of the struggles. From what I’ve heard it’s a very intense fast program so they want to make sure you are ready to take on any challenges and stress that comes along with the program and know how you react to diff situations and that you can handle it. At least that’s what I’ve heard but this is from over a year ago that I was told this. None the less I feel it can help anyone to know this regardless of the response we receive.
Omg lol i don’t know what day I’m living in ? for some reason i thought it was Friday already sorry guys all the testing and mid terms coming my way have me clueless... ah now I’m panicking I just read posts from all the fall semester I could find and they all seem to fall in the first Friday of March like you said ? now I’m nervous....I wish for the best
