Hello Everyone. My name is Jenilee i'm starting at Galen this April 15th 2013. Doing the two year/24 month RN program @ st petersburg campus. I'm looking to start a thread for other students starting in April, and also any student who is currently attending, or looking to attend Galen. I'm going to try my very best to keep an eye on this thread throughout the entire length of the program. I noticed there really isn't any threads i could find talking about Galen. Up to date anyway... So with that said please feel free to ask,comment,etc.

How dose the financial aid work there compared to most colleges? Because I goto a spc now and I know I get the remaining balance each semester which helps with paying for my kids daycare.

I got accepted for the evening LPN program in January. Just hope the financial aid works out.

I am glad you are enjoying Galen! I was wondering which SPC courses did Galen accept?

Also if you can identify the diffrence in credit amounts? (If that makes sense)

Erica1223 you will get any remaining financial aid given to you as a check or deposited into your bank if you sign up for it. I get a check every quarter at Galen.

Shamrocks- I am about to start the second quarter of the bridge program. Did you have to take the math class?

No I transferred in my math credit so I didn't have to take Galen's.

Oh ok. I chose not to take it at my CC cause of the 51% of classes that needed to be done at Galen. How are your classes so far? Are you doing the bridge program or the basic ADN program?

I did the same thing with microbiology. I took it at Galen instead of my CC to meet the transfer requirements. I love it. I am in the 6 quarter online bridge program. I have two quarters to go and I am done.

I have already taken all my pre reqs basically ( which I know they incorporate in their 24 month program), how was the transferring of the credits, did they make you take any classes over? How is the program going so far? How are the teachers? Sorry so many questions just excited to be getting on track. I've been a vet tech for many years now but nursing has always been my passion!
