Hello Everyone. My name is Jenilee i'm starting at Galen this April 15th 2013. Doing the two year/24 month RN program @ st petersburg campus. I'm looking to start a thread for other students starting in April, and also any student who is currently attending, or looking to attend Galen. I'm going to try my very best to keep an eye on this thread throughout the entire length of the program. I noticed there really isn't any threads i could find talking about Galen. Up to date anyway... So with that said please feel free to ask, comment, etc.

Thanks, Jenilee:)

They showed me this Video in student orientation.

Finally a thread for Galen!! Hey nursies to be, I'm hopefully starting in July, I can't wait!! Hope to meet you all soon, I'm super excited... As for the accreditation, they're getting theirs in June I believe.

How are your classes going?!

I am awaiting my letters from phcc. If I get denied I'm not sure if it'll give me enough time to start Galen in July. Who knows maybe il see ya around!

Hi Jenilee

How are things going for you at Galen? I have a friend that completed their LPN program and now she is completing the Galen bridge to RN program in St. Pete. Since I am considering going back to nursing school she recommended Galen to me; however, the drive would be killer for me about 1 - 1.5 hr each way. I REALLY want to go back into nursing but that drive would be really stressful on me gas wise and with not having a reliable car I wouldn't want to take the chance.

Anyhoo, I wish you luck. My friend loves the school.

Hi Everyone!

I'm glad you started a current thread for Galen. I will be starting at the Louisville location in October. How was the financial aid process?

hey everyone!

I've been very busy.

@mcotton01 The financial aid process was a breeze. Not much too it. Just sign the dotted line for loans and talk about any extra loans you might need.

@unequalbeauty30 I personally would hate to drive that far, but it would be worth it in the long run. Have you looked into any other schools closer to home?

@kskaggs126 Yes cant wait to say its a accredited school. Classes are good just a lot to cover in a short amount of time. Very doable though. I'm doing very well in all of my classes.

Their are some doing better and some doing worse. I believe its how hard you work for it and study.

@heydanixo Good luck ! Hope you get in, if not hope to see you around Galen.

Ps, I'm already almost through a whole quarter! I cant believe it and all of the stress and hardwork are worth it!

Hope to see you all around Campus and at the SNA meetings!

I took a drive over there this weekend and noticed how they have a parking garage. Do they charge you for a pass or is parking free?

heydanixo

No parking fee. Its free.

Hi everyone! I had a question about the PAX-RN.

So my admission's rep said that I need to get 96 out of 200 questions right, He didn't mention anything about a composite score. Should I be worried?

Nope that's about right, but you always want to strive to do your best on the entrance exam. It can be a way for schools and administration to get a feel for you and your abilities before the program starts. Best of luck, which campus?
