I'm about to submit my application to the nursing program at GA Highlands and I am so confused by the "nursing program worksheet". I don't want to fill it out wrong and have it go in the trash! If you haven't taken some of the courses do you just put something like N/A or "not taken" in the line for grade and 0 in the line for points? So basically not having taken a course is the same as failing it, correct? Also, does anyone know what admission score is considered competitive? Thank you so much!!!:bowingpur
I know I'm probably not a very competitive applicant because there's a few pre-reqs I haven't taken but I figured it can't hurt to apply, I just may get lucky!
prern ashley,
If I did my worksheet correctly, I had 1069 for categories I and II and then I would add whatever number value GHC gives me for my BBA for category III.
I had 2 A's and a B in category I, and 5 A's, 1 B+, and 2 B's (if that helps).
Hope that helps...although I don't know what is considered "good" for spring applicants.
I hate that we don't find out until the end of the month....
its driving me crazy. i wish i knew people who were applying and what theyre grades were. and what grades were for previous years. i talked to the secretary back in may, and she said (based off the old worksheet scores) that the 40 who got in ranged from 1300-1600. My score from the old worksheet is a 1400. But, its much lower for the new worksheet. I feel sick to my stomach. I guess i just keep reminding myself that i know ill get in in the fall, it wont be the end of the world. the anticipation is awful!
prern - don't beat yourself up. Even with all A's and a BBA the total score would only be a 1469. GHC gives 1100 for a BBA which is 220 (1100 x .20) for cat III. So my total is 1269. I'd love to know how applicants get 1600. I was accepted for fall '09, but didn't take it.....might have been a BIG mistake. Only about 3 more weeks and we'll have our answer!!Good luck to you!!
I actually think your more than fine. I have a few friends who got in the fall with mid 900's. the highest i heard of was 1400. i was in the program in fall of 08, and i married somebody in the army and was going to move. we didnt move and now im so upset i dropped! i was going to apply to fall 09 too, i missed the deadline with army drama. i did fairly well in nursing school if you have any questions. I just dont think my scores high enough for the spring track, dang the army lol. do you know anyone else applying?? im hoping theres people who applied who are finishing up there core classes this semester so that they cant put them on the sheet, thats awful i know, im just so ready to graduate. 3 more weeks!!
congrats on getting married and for marrying someone in the army - our military people are VERY special people. we all should be SO thankful to have them fighting for us and our freedom!!
i'm sure dr r will take into consideration that you were in the program before and thought you were moving away. hopefully ghc takes care of their previous students. i did lpn for one semester 2 yrs ago but then stopped to take care of a family member. i decided that i would go for the rn instead hoping to get marietta (which i did)- shouldn't have dropped it!! now i have been offered a good job opportunity, but i said i can't make that decision until the end of oct. i'll probably lose the job and not get accepted!! i hate that we have to wait so long, but i guess it's worth it. i have friends in the fall class, but don't know anyone applying for spring. you know there's tons of applicants out there, waiting and hoping like us. maybe they'll join this thread.
i know what you mean about not having all the classes for the worksheet. when i applied for fall, i didn't have speech and had to take a big fat zero for the points. it killed me. i took speech/communications online through uga and got a B+. hope ghc gives me the 1/2 point for the +, i need it!!
why does time go soooo slow when you're waiting for acceptance letters??!!
i definitely am learning patience........

TiffanyN - I emailed one of the secretaries and she told me we should receive a letter at the end of Oct. It seems like forever until we'll hear something - but it's worth the wait.
dtinnan - are you talking about reapplying for spring 2010?
