GA Highlands students please help!

I'm about to submit my application to the nursing program at GA Highlands and I am so confused by the "nursing program worksheet". I don't want to fill it out wrong and have it go in the trash! If you haven't taken some of the courses do you just put something like N/A or "not taken" in the line for grade and 0 in the line for points? So basically not having taken a course is the same as failing it, correct? Also, does anyone know what admission score is considered competitive? Thank you so much!!!:bowingpur

I know I'm probably not a very competitive applicant because there's a few pre-reqs I haven't taken but I figured it can't hurt to apply, I just may get lucky!:D

How much are you selling the books for?

How was the program and any advice

Congrats Dan!! Glad more spring GHC students are finding this website.

I was accepted this past fall for the Marietta location, but had to postpone until spring because of a medical situation. When we (a bunch of us from fall Allnurses) went to "keys for success" (orientation) the instructors told us which books we definitely needed for the first semester, or at least for the first few weeks. I think I remember them saying that the "bookstore recommended" were definitely optional, but all the others would carry us through the 1st and 2nd semester. We needed our assessment kit, fundamentals and assessment books, Nursing videos immediately. You could wait a bit before buying the others. I'm sure the question of books will come up at orientation again. No one wants to fork out $1,000 all at once, if not necessary. Try getting some of the books on Amazon - they're a little discounted now, between semesters. I've saved a good amount of money that way. I have the ISBN numbers if you have trouble finding them under the titles/authors.

Looking forward to meeting you and starting this journey!! If you have any other questions that I can help you with, don't hesitate to ask. Prern obviously knows more about the program, but she's waiting to deliver baby #3. I haven't heard from her lately so maybe she already has. I am meeting with a friend next week who's in the Marietta program - hopefully I will get some insight that I can pass on!!

please let us know if you get any information about the program

I got accepted for spring 2010. any advice. please help

congrats on getting in for spring 2010! it really is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. i have just finished 1101 at highlands. if you have any specific questions let me know i will be happy to help if i can! one bit of advice is not to purchase "the neighborhood", this was the biggest waist of money if you are not comfortable not purchasing it then go in with a group of classmates and split it! do not worry about doing any drug cards you will do the ones you need when you start clinicals. tape recorders are not necessary most (all) of the important information you need you will read from your text or will be in your outline from your teacher. some teachers are straight forward others (one in particular) love to see you sweat!~any other questions let me know! good luck!
